There has also, for the first time in years, been the rise of a new batch of teenagers:
2 teens winning titles: Babos & Arruabarrena-Vecino
4 teens making a tour level final: Babos,Robson,Vekic,Arruabarrena
2 teens making it into week 2 of Grand Slam: Stephens,Robson
5 teens currently in the top 100(with almost 3 in top 50): Stephens,Babos,Robson,Davis & Mladenovic
8 different teens cracking top 100: Stephens,Mchale,Babos,Robson,Watson,Davis,Mladenov ic &Muguruza-B
15 teens making atleast a tour level QF: Mchale* x2, Stephens x2 , Robson x2 , Babos x2 , Arrubarena, Davis, Vekic, Mladenovic , Krunic, Van Uytvanck*, Cepelova, Bouchard, Scholl, Muguruza, Ormaechea

Beth is a really amazing doubles player, especially if she's hot. Untouchable.

I need to find on youtube.

- Queen Bethanie won a Grand Slam title.
- Aga proved Tokyo/Bombjing wasn't a fluke winning Miami and not getting killed in the Wimbledon finals.
- Na's new relationship with Carlos.
- Kerber got bitch slapped into retirement by Martha.
- The rise of more young American girls getting into R3/R4's of slams.
- Piotr/Caro Wozniacki's reign seems like a distant memory.

Anyways, the consistency of the top players has improved, I like that.

2012 has definitely been a high-quality year for WTA. We've had so many great matches and top players have performed really consistently as well.

Re: 2012 - One of the Best Quality Years for WTA

I think 2012 has been the most memorable year in recent memory. What most will remember this year is Serena's incredible summer run at the age of 30. The highlight being the dominant Olympic gold medal performance watched by billions.
Next would be Maria Sharapova completing her career slam after a 3 year drought, and an amazing clay season.
Then Victoria Azarenka capturing her first grand slam title in style and gaining the number one rank.

Other memorable highlights:
Serena-Vika US Open final
Maria Stuttgart title
Serena Charleston title
Vicoria Sydney title
Aga Miami title
Laura Robson Us Open run

Lowlights (or highlights if you hate them)
Razzano-Williams RG
Wozniacki-Pasek W
Sharapova-Lisicki W
Williams-Zheng W
Sharapova-Kvitova AO
Azarenka-Stosur UO
Azarenka-Sharapova UO
