Actually she (or her father?) was in conflict with the tournament organizers, so it's not exactly that she didn't care about it (she had already played in Warsaw before). In addition it was just the week before the French Open, right after Madrid and Rome... She wasn't the only top player missing there.

I really think she could go to Katowice (if this tournament isn't a rumor), even if she rarely plays International tournaments now (one or two in the last 3 years I think?).

Caro won't finish 2012 in the top 10 so Aga, Caro and Ula can all play no problem

Lol, he couldn't stand Caro losing in front of her home crowd again, especially with Caro's tennis results lately suggesting that there's a high chance next year. If the shoe don't fit, cut off your foot!

If he (or his business mates) owns the tournament license, basically he can do whatever as long as WTA agrees with details like date, location, surface, venue, etc.
I doubt WTA really cares if the international tournament is in Denmark or Poland. If someone runs the tournament and pays the dues its all good for them.

He was disappointed with the depth of the field? I think this year the Event was rather good with Kerber, Jankovic and Kanepi. There are much worse MMs around.
