4-3 BP in the 1st. And Sharapova is very close to beating Serena, doesn't mean she ever will. Wasn't she up a set and 3-0 against her in Miami 2 years ago

I think your assumption is quite far-fetched, really.

I don't think it's fair to say she's NOT having a breakthrough, but I also think it's not fair to say that she "almost beat" Bencic and "would have won" the match.
She was leading in the 1st Set, Bencic was awfully tight. She then had injury problems in the 2nd. I think most people would agree she was the better player for almost all of the 1st Set. I think without the scheduling problems she would not have faded throughout the match, clearly an issue of fatigue and tiredness. I am not claiming Dasha is a better player than Belinda, because she isn't. Belinda is sick and she was very tight, as could be expected of an 18 year old going for such a massive milestone. But RU90's post is insanely stupid, and to say Kasatkina isn't rising but Bencic is is ludicrous.

She's gone from #350 to Top 60 in 13 months, if that's not a breakthrough, I don't know what you call a breakthrough

Ana has this WTA MM yeah, but she's been a walking bye ever since. Dasha dragged her twice in the last few months.
Slay them!

Am I wrong? Besides Ana's Nottingham title and obviously Bencic, where are the receipts? Some other girls may break through, but they need more time.
