Anyways, I know I stated that I believed Serena wouldn't win the French again, and the record book backed up my statements as to why, but hey, she did win it, so well played to her. Had she lost to Medina Garrigues at Madrid, maybe things would have been different, and she has been helped by the lack of truly great clay courters in today's game (the only elite natural clay-court player she faced was an injured Kuznetsova, and look how she struggled through that match), but the Williams sisters have always been the exception rather than the rule, and today was her time, so congrats.
So was Henin Let's not pretend the players she spanked on clay were clayGOATS either. All either top players/slam champ material who sucked on clay at the time (Serena, Venus, Pova) or clay specialists who were generally just second/third tier players and had nerves of straw (Kuznetsova, Ivanovic, Jankovic). And I'm not even denying that Henin was obviously better on clay, but the competition argument doesn't really hold.

Really, she isn't going to win the French again.
