Insane win from Ajla. Whatever the circumstances, this win is unbelievable for her confidence in her comeback. She did an interview post-match where she stated her AUS citizenship is still pending. Great that she still wants it to happen.

Nick's girlfriend going well also, beating the Indian Wells champ

Sam needed the win more right now so I am glad she won.
Also, the loss would have hurt harder for Sam, rather than Ash. Ash will recover fine.

Good job Sam. Beat Ash 4 and 4.
Garcia or Peng next.

Good confidence boosting win for Sam.

I don't think many people expected her to win that based on form, myself included!

Tight match so far between Ash and Sam. Sam serving for the 1st set, saved a few break points.

They need four teams to pull out of the MD list, and they'll get in.

Otherwise it's off to qualifying.

Ash & Casey possibly struggling physically with some jetlag.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Couldn't watch Dasha's match, but it seems she pulled it together it seems to finish it in two.

I hope she can stop the rot against Elina. She has what it takes and hopefully not playing for AUS and being outdoors should give her a boost.

Ash/Casey betting on them too much pressure...

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Disappointing from Ash/Casey. They had 3-1 in the first set I think but lost it. Got the 2nd set but were never in the MTB. Possibly just an inevitable comedown after the highs of KL?

Nice work Dasha

Hope Ash doesn't get flak for that WC. It is entirely appropriate as her ranking is now MD DE level but didn't make the qualie cutoff (I assume) and I'm pretty sure is the only player in that position.
Not so far and yes, she did not make the qualie cutoff

I guess we will see at the next slam if there is AUS next to her name
