This guy just defines 'epic fail'. Laura, get away from him!

I'm dying at Eisenbud telling her she had no chance for the QWC, then she gets a call to come to NY for qualifying.

Few photos in her instagram

"I've had so many pictures of their sunset cruises and they have been tagging me in their Instagram as if I'm still part of the group," Robson said.

I don't think there's any major hype really. Just encouraging news of her sudden improvement in results. Laura will be going into that match as an underdog, she knows she has to prove herself and she won't take Naomi lightly. Laura is way past letting any hype get to her head at this stage in her career, she has a completely different mindset when approaching matches now. The fact Naomi is a fellow Brit ranked higher than her, will make give her want this win even more.

I'm a little worried by the hype Laura Q-ing has creating, I can see this setting her up for a big fall, as flawed as Naomi is, she's a fair step up from anything Laura has faced on her streak.

I pray that I am proven wrong and Laura wipes the floor with Naomi. I love all the British girls but Laura is bae.

I would think Naomi would be on her best behaviour and TBH, she is probably very aware of the ball toss issues in comaprison to some other WTA players.

So, I've finally gotten around to updating the OP. Laura's ITF win is up, along with the fact that she fought through qualies this week. Hopefully that list will get a lot longer <3

Just the combination of these 2 facts , makes me less worried about the match. I feel like as long as Laura serve well and return enough serves, she will win. Can't wait
This is true.. One thing is, that Laura puts a decent amount of spin on the ball and so can hit high to Naomi's backhand. Naomi puts barely any topspin on the ball.. so what Laura really needs to worry about are the flat shots with a lot of pace, and the slices Naomi starts hitting when Laura attacks. Otherwise, Laura will get a lot of balls sitting up in her strike zone to take advantage of.

I think the crucial thing will be Laura's serve. If she can serve just fairly decently, Naomi will struggle. If Laura makes it too easy for Naomi to break serve, and Naomi is serving bombs, it could be over for Laura quite quickly..

From Laura's point of view, I agree that Broady was one of the better players to draw. She's had a rough road recently, struggling to win more than a match at a time on the WTA tour, and naturally Broady just isn't going to be as confident and match-ready as Robson is currently.

Better that than drawing Radwanska, who's probably a step too far at them moment, or another player who has been successful in challengers this summer.

I'm not sure. Naomi doesn't play Fed Cup, they've never played doubles together (I don't think?), and when Robson was playing on the tour before her injury Broady was mainly playing ITF's, and vice verse since her return. It's possible that they just don't really know each other.

They are both pretty friendly with Heather. They were pictured together a couple of months ago for Falconi's birthday party. Also, in an interview(can't remember when), Naomi was quite complimentary towards Laura, and hoping she could get back to match fitness. I think it's correct they are on good terms but just don't know each other very well.
