A good start for the Aussies in Montreal, with quality wins overnight for Sam and Dasha
Yesterday 07:51 AM
Territory Nastya lost. Still, nice tournament for her.

Australia is basically now just a Dubs Nation.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

What the hell did Sam do to lose to Pegula!? Now Lauren Davis is in a final

Nastya into dubs final in Stanford. Working her way up the ranking again Jurak/Rodionova will be into top 20 in race to Singapore

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Team Rodi 'N' won. Nastya is into the Semi. Think Arina (Team Rodi 'A') plays her QF tomorrow/tonight.

USA tournie scheduling seems really whacky. 5 matches all on one court starting from 12pm to(approx)9pm local time.

Should at least still have 2 matches on another court starting at Noon even if you want to keep the 7pm prime time slot for the marquee singles match so you don't have players having matches really late.

Or playing Fed Cup recently

Territory Sam into Washington QF with 5-7 4-3 ret result over Woz. Pegula next so a great chance for SF vs probs Puig or Giorgi.

Meanwhile in Stanford dubs, Arina had a R1 win and Nastya is into SF. Arina should return to top 100

So like... we'll have four in the doubles top 100 but none playing Olympics

Territory A bit of a shocker. Had at least one MP in Set 2 and another at 9-8 in MTB. Jess double faulted on their opponents first MP

Lost in the deciding tiebreak 11-9

I guess they were due one of those TBs going the wrong way.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

First set to Jess/Varatchaya 6-2. Apart from letting those two games slip, they are not being pushed at all. Jess probs best on court

Re: Aussies in WTA events

^Yes, the 3-9 W-L does include that Fed Cup win.

Meanwhile, Jess back on court and holds for 2-0 against Kerkhove/Marozava. Early stages, but Jess/Varatchaya look like a solid team!

Does that record count the Fed Cup deciding doubles against the Slovaks. Sam was the difference in that match. I think her merry-go-round of partners would explain the record. Wish she would partner with Sveta on a full-time basis.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Yeah I dont really think Moore is better than Stosur or Gavrilova in doubles. Maybe with more form. Nastya though may have a case but we know the polemica there.
