NEWPORT, RI- On Saturday, June 11, USTA New England will induct three deserving members into its Hall of Fame Class of 2016 for their lifetime achievements and dedication to the game of tennis. The honorees will be enshrined during a ceremony at the International Tennis Hall Fame in Newport, RI.

Jill Craybas, Wade Frame and John Mayotte Jr. make up the class of 2016 and have each influenced the game in a unique way. They will now forever live in the sport’s history.

These three outstanding individuals are highly regarded in the New England tennis community, and it is our pleasure to bestow upon them our highest honor by inducting them into the USTA New England Hall of Fame,” said Scott Steinberg, USTA New England President & CEO.

Jill Craybas, an East Greenwich, RI native, is a former World No. 39 ranked singles player and U.S. Olympian who maintained a top 100 ranking for 10 consecutive years. She won five WTA titles (1 singles and 4 doubles) and competed in an impressive 45 straight Grand Slam main draws. As a college player, Craybas was a two-time All-American and a 1996 singles champion. She was the top-ranked New England junior player in the 18s division and achieved a No. 4 National junior ranking. As a junior, Craybas trained at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, MA.

Craybas currently lives in Huntington Beach, CA where she works as a broadcaster for BBC Radio, Live@Wimbledon and TV World Feed. She also works as a tennis and fitness coach and as a skin care representative.

“I feel very privileged to be recognized by such a prestigious and established organization that helped me jumpstart my tennis career,” Craybas said. “There have been a lot of moments in my career that have meant so much to me, but the ones I cherish the most are the ones that hit closest to home. That is why I am so happy to be able to come back to my roots here in New England to be among my family and friends who helped me reach all my goals and accomplishments.”
