No Osaka due to Sam Stosur's choice to play Osaka. Sam gets priority due to better top 10 ranking. And from what i know, Azarenka choose Linz, Wozniacki Seoul, Stosur Osaka.....

No end of 2011 top 10 player in Quebec, Tashkent and Luxembourg (Kerber has no limits in 2012).

Concerning famous discussion with momo today, no news at the moment.

I can't even be upset about this loss. I had her losing to Oprandi 6-0 in the third so this is is just beyond my expectations. Would love to see Marion pick up this form and maybe even win a title in Asia but I wouldn't count on it.

Re: US/Canada Swing (D-Day)

Match was there for the taking but just missed on a few of the important points. If someone had offered me a QF here and pushing someone shes never taken a set off of close before the tournament I would have taken it in a heartbeat. Hope she can keep this up in Asia when the other girls slow down in prep for the YEC.

Re: US/Canada Swing (D-Day)

great match and very little between them in the end
Marion played excellent and absolutely murdered that ball off both sides
Maria hit a few good serves at the end, and Marion missed a few so-so returns
but what a great, dramatic quarter-final
really enjoyed it

this has been a great tournament for Marion and she has now completed
her set of Grand Slam quarter-finals and gained many points which will help her
towards her race for YEC, well done!

Bitterly, bitterly disappointed that she lost this match.

You can't fault her for effort though. She gave everything, right until the last game.

Logically speaking, there is no way of knowing that Sharapova could not have come back and won yesterday. But it "felt" like she would have won in two sets. Really disappointing. Oh well. Still a great effort to get as far as she did, this time.

Re: US/Canada Swing (D-Day)

Really proud of her effort here

She was incredible in the first four games!Of course it's a huge ask for her to replicate that form after such a long break.

As I said in GM, she missed the boat at the start of the second set. Couldn't get a first serve in at 1*0 and had a few errors on the break points in the next game.

It looked like she was going to fade early on in the third but she played incredible to go up 3-2* didn't really mess up on the break points in the next game- Sharapova got her second serves in and had good depth.

She look quite disappointed walking off but still signed for the kid

Career Quarter slam completed

Re: US/Canada Swing (D-Day)

I'm a bit sad right now

She had a real chance there, and I will admit, I am certainly no fan or Miss Sharapova at all ... Eww

Would have been really nice to get a first career win over her ...

sadly Marion just wasn't as good as she was yesterday, and 'Pova got better.

Still, some points on Marions ranking this week
