Re: Yung-Jan Latisha Chan + Hao-Ching Chan.

In the 2017 Summer Universiade the Chan sisters won the women's doubles. In mixed doubles Chan / Hsieh reached SF in mixed doubles but gave W/O. Together with LEE Ya-Hsuan's silver medal in singles, TPE also won the team gold medal.

The reason for giving W/O in mixed doubles was that Yj Chan didn't feel well and the controversy thereafter arising was discussed in Yung Jan Chan apologizes ...

It seems that the Chan family hasn't returned to Taiwan after the US Open and there is no reason that they won't return after the WTA Final. Then the sisters, especially YJ, will be welcomed by celebration for winning 11 tites in 2017 and inevitably some protests.

The 2017 titles

Y.Chan Taipei City (Chan H. Tpe / Chan Y. Tpe)
Y.Chan Indian Wells (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui)
Y.Chan Madrid (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui)

Y.Chan Eastbourne (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui)
Y.Chan Mallorca (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui) ... by W/O

Y.Chan Wuhan (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui)
Y.Chan Beijing (Chan Y. Tpe / Hingis M. Sui)

I really don't like Martina Hingis, and her comments here just reinforce that... looking forward to the day when the Chan sisters reunite and beat her in a grand slam - maybe even Olympic? - final (hey, I can dream). But that aside, I can see why they needed to take a break from playing together. Just hope that Hao-Ching/Angel is able to win a slam as well.

Re: Yung-Jan Latisha Chan + Hao-Ching Chan.

Yung-jan Chan withdrew from her summer universiade mixed doubles semi-final match due to illness which caused a huge controversy here in Taiwan.

Re: Yung-Jan Latisha Chan + Hao-Ching Chan.

The Chan sisters will play the 2017 Summer Universiade 21-29 August 2017, doubles final scheduled on 28.

Interestingly Chan Yung Jan will also play mixed doubles partnering Hsieh Su Wei's brother HSIEH Cheng-Peng.

The USO MD round 1 is scheduled to play on 28 and 29 of August. Don't know whether the Chans could play the USO doubles.

Re: Yung-Jan Latisha Chan + Hao-Ching Chan.

There is now week by week rankings history in the WTA page.

Chan Yung Jan has been top 100 in the year end doubles ranking since 2007.

She entered top 100 on 29 Jan 2007 after being runners-up of the AO and maintained the top 100 status week by week until 8 July 2013.

She resumed the top 100 ranking briefly from 7 Oct to 30 Dec 2013 and after 7 Apr 2014 she has been top 100 until now.
