amelie would be a great coach for her but she has MURRAY. Urpi would suit her perfectly imo but she wont agree AS USUAL
Are we gonna be happy with a QF match at the Open? Even more so, a match she should've won 15 time at least ? Come on. Both Caroline and Kristina have the game to be consistent Top 10 players but well, French Federation is more into corruption and how to save Gachassin's ass from courts, rather than giving a slap on the wrist to these girls as a wake up call, and providing them with the adequate structure, and make them realize they need that structure.

Re: Caroline Garcia

Thank you

well I know caro and kiki in their "young" career think fed cup is a competition that means BIG, but girls you have to realize that even when Amélie won Wimbledon, the legends garden, yes WIMBLEDON as world n°1 beating Justine Henin in finale, she did not make the cover of l'EQUIPE! Football will ALWAYS be n°1, no matter what. That sucks but that's the way it is.

the fact they care soooo much about what people say of them is a bad thing imo, fed cup is very fun competition, but it never equilize SLAMS or OLYMPICS!

go win a slam and then you 'll have the right to complain, if not, take that "rage" and turn it into something positive to give the best in Majors!

I won't disturb for long, but I thought some of you might be interested in Mladenovic and Garcia's words on the world of social media and their war vs L'Equipe, as well as some comments on their choice of teaming up for the Olympics. I talked to them in Stuttgart and was impressed by their strong sense of integrity, remarkable

Yeah but thing is, for instance, when she plays under Amélie's direction, she plays so good, her form in Fed Cup is quite good, she can construct a point, then back to WTA and well... Out of Top 50, I could never imagine Garcia falling so low and letting unable-to-win-a-match-but-big-mouthy Mladenovic be the Numéro 1 française...

Re: Caroline Garcia

I just don't think that singles are a priority for Caroline right now. Being a top player in singles and doubles simultaneously isn't impossible, but it isn't sustainable in the long run either. After 12, 18, 20 months mental burnout, fatigue and injuries caused by overplaying begin to show up; we've seen this happen with several players before.

Personally I think that right now Caroline is letting results make the decision (to focus on singles or doubles or both) for her.

Re: Caroline Garcia

I love Caroline's game and abilities, but as long as she does not get an actual real coach, she'll be stuck between 30-50, she just does not know what to do with all her skills on court. Watching her being outplayed by Niculescu was AWFUL...

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yeah and Kuznetsova played very well that week, even beat Serena.

I hope she can defend some of the Madrid points at the very least. I don't want to see her ranking fall to the point where she has to qualify for these events.

She's 31 in the race at the moment which is not bad. I just want to see her do well at a grand slam, something she has not done yet. A big run somewhere could really do her the world of good.

Re: Caroline Garcia

She did great in Miami too, lost 76(6) against Kuznetsova in third set, so really not so far away from a win. Charleston was the same, lost tie break in third i think? And after what happend there i was worried but it seems she did not affect her so much. She just lost badly in Stuttgart after all, no big loss except this one so yes it happens. Yes she has Madrid to defend, 120 points and next one will be Cincinnati so she will up in ranking for sur except if she plays really bad.
Being out of top 50 for first time since a 2 years could be à positive chock for her too. So wait and see what happend in Madrid, Rome, Strasbourg and RG but i am confident she will bounce back fast. She loves clay, she just needed some matchs i think. But i am confident for the rest of the season. She showed great tennis already this year.

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yeah of course she hasn't given up on her singles, she just thrives more in a team environment at the moment.

Caroline has the Madrid points to defend then she'll have not much to defend for the rest of the year. In Grand Slams especially she lost in the first round last year so she has that on her side.

She is too good to be outside the top 50 and will be back of course.

I just hope she can get her confidence and form back soon. I was encouraged by the start of the year but since the injury she has struggled.

Re: Caroline Garcia

I am not agreed, she did not gave up on single. Her ranking is not representative about her level in single. Ok she lost 1st in AO, in IW (injured), Charleston and Stuttgart, but she had some greats tournaments too this year. I am pretty sure she will fight back and come back in top 50 soon. Yes she is strong in double and Fed Cup but this is because she is not alone, and when she will decide to take a coach she will be on top. Maybe not during few months coming but she will do it. She has a sparring now, Florian Reynet who is with her on some tournaments so it is evolving. Not as fast as we want to, but it is.
I am sure she will do her best to be at Olympics.

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yes, at the moment it does look like she has stagnated. Her start to the year was good even with a first round loss at the Australian Open. But since Dubai where she got a slight injury, she has been struggling and as a result her ranking has slipped because she had points to defend.

At the moment she is a top 40 player in my opinion, that's her level despite the ranking. Problem is she has been a top 40 player for the past two years.

Caroline, in my opinion, clearly prefers the team environment. Her performances in doubles, Fed Cup and even the Hopman Cup show this. I mean look at yesterday, she was by far and away the best player in that final and her level in doubles is higher than her singles level.

I think she might win slams in doubles for sure. She seems happy enough where she is at the moment when she is not getting falsely accused of racism.

But we have to remember that she is still young and she has time. Her game doesn't need much development and she's a great athlete. All it may take is a moment of inspiration for her to surge up the rankings and become a grand slam contender. I still feel Caroline will peak later in her career.
