This is insane but in no way surprising.

What I fear now is that Caroline will just keep seething inside, maybe for as long as a couple more years, until she finally cracks, rebels and runs away with some old lesbian, ruining her career in the process. It's not like similar stuff hasn't happened before (e.g. Rezai, to an extent Vaidisova).

Re: Caroline Garcia

The way Daddy Garcia seems to be treating his daughter is a huge disrespect to her as a person, and it goes far beyond being protective as a father. If only he would at least be man enough to take the responsibility for the decision regarding Fed Cup.

Caroline has my deepest sympathy, but, like Potapovushina mentioned, she has to start making her own decisions, or otherwise she will never become the player that she potentially can be.

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yeah, say that she must dump dad etc.. but it is a very difficult decision for her because she knows nothing else.

It is sad because i am sure if she was allowed she could be a popular player on tour and have many friends and become more popular with tennis fans as a result.

I know from personal experience how hard it is to break free from controlling parents. Hope she'll find the strenght to do it asap (she needs to talk with Aga)...

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yeah, the problem is Caro is childish because she has not been allowed to grow up. I can't put it better than Jow, she can't do anything by herself and her life is controlled by her dad. She is their only child and daddy's little princess and i guess he didn't want to let her grow up.

There is nothing wrong with it as such, but it is the reason she isn't taking responsibility for her own career and making her own choices. I can't help but feel if she had a sibling then things may be different

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yep. And she knows it's not perfect with daddy, she really knows it. She is suffering a lot because she has almost no friend -and the friend she had, she has no more confidence in her...- and it's very difficult for her to live like that. Same for guys, I'm pretty sure she never had boyfriend... She was doing school at home starting in 5e so around 12-13 years old.. so she was alone, always alone or with her parents... she has a friend, Elixane Lechemia, and that's almost all... For one of the nicest girl on the tour, it's tricky...

I didn't know it was that bad

However, Caroline needs to start taking responsability for her career. She's a grown ass adult ffs. I know she's hardly the only player in that situation and that it's easier said than done, but imo her career won't evolve positively until she stops being in a child's position

I can't see Noah and Caro getting along, they are too different like chalk and cheese.

Re: Caroline Garcia

As a player, Noah seems to have been magical (I wasn't around to see him in his playing days, but clips and stories about him give a similar impression to Henri Leconte- both exhibition style players who loved to play trick shots and were crowd pleasers). But as a captain, this approach, the approach of the FFT to threaten players with punishment, is definitely counterproductive and overly negative. For a sensitive soul like Caro, this does not help at all.

Someone who could provide a more positive team atmosphere would help a lot.

If they realize that at one point... for that we need a new captain, he is the one asking for this. Noah is like french tennis god for FFT, and imo this would have never happen with Amélie. We need Amélie back or Mary alone, but no Noah... this guy is a joke and he is not inspiring all players, for sure. Except Kristina...

HAVE FUN !
So basically they can say "You won't play RG if not playing FC" they really can do that. And all others tournaments in France. YEP HAVE FUN!
The fact is I don't think she wants to play with Noah as captain. After what he said... and what he just asked... It's a mess.

*was in blod in the french article from FFT, I guess it is meaning they want to do it?

We all hope for the same thing, but we also know Caroline won't wake up this way

I am getting a bad feeling about her year. She seems a mess at the moment and i don't know where or when she will get out of it. This will be lingering all year depending on what she does next.

The only way i can see Caro changing her approach is if results get bad. Right now, despite everything she is still a top 30 player and that is good even though it is below where she could be. If she drops far down the rankings this year then maybe that will prompt Dad to step down. I can't see it being anyones but his decision

Re: Caroline Garcia

I am not sure actually she is over the loss in double in this final. I actually think she is not, and this is not helping her to come back neither. But I am absolutely sure she does not want Noah as captain, and this will also be a problem.
I hope the same, that Amélie will help her as soon as she can... but will both of them be able to do that? I don't know. I will keep hoping and praying...
