Re: Barbara Haas

She lost in 2 straight sets to Sanders .
It was not easy, it was pretty windy and Storm dealt better with these conditions, being more agressive and making less mistakes than Babsi

Re: Barbara Haas

She just started the year with a win she defeated Angelique Svinos 4 & 3 in Perth (25K) !

Next Storm Sanders, I'm expecting a tighter match, good luck Babsi !

Re: Barbara Haas

#232 this week and she will earn some more points after her QF last week in Pune !
This has been an aweome year for her and she has showed all her skills ! I'm looking forward to seeing what she's gonna do next year.
She has no points to defend until March so if she deals well she could reach quickly the top 200

Re: Barbara Haas

She really is doing well !
#270 this week, but the victory in the 25K last week hasn't been counted yet.
Playing another 25K in India this week as #6. She's into the quarterfinals and hasn't lost a set yet next step, Kamenskaya.

Good luck !

Babsi won a 25k in India !

Smart schedule to play this weak Asian tournament. Nice ranking points

Babsi is moving in the right direction. I hope she can play French Open Quali next year !

Re: Barbara Haas

In Linz, I talked for quite long to Babsi Schett and among other things, we discussed the future of Austrian tennis, with some good words about Haas and Antonitsch. It's just a piece of this interview, but I think you might be interested: From court to commentary box, an insight interview with Barbara Schett | SPAZIO TENNISSPAZIO TENNIS

Re: Barbara Haas

Very nice performance overall

The 1st set was a disaster, she made a LOT of BH unforced errors and was just trying to play the ball in the court. In the 2nd she played more freely and was more aggressive on the court, which is the way she should play more often She fought really hard and had the right attitude from the beginning of the 2nd set. It's a great scoreline for someone with still very limited experience at this level.

Hope she plays bigger events to improve her tennis against these higher ranked players, but for sure this will boost her confidence for the rest of this season and 2016

Babsi

She is so lovely and cute. Nice to see that she did not give up and fought hard
Babsi must work on being more aggressive and she must improve her serve
This Wild Card was fully deserved. Babsi only lost 4-6 in 3rd set vs Top 40 player
I`m sure Babsi learned much in this match. A good experience for her

It was wonderful to see Sybille Bammer again
Babsi is in good hands with her and Jürgen Waber as her coaches

Re: Barbara Haas

I never watched Haas play before.
That was quite a match against Strycova!
What a fighter!
Will be watching her in the future.

Re: Barbara Haas

Babsi just lost, 0-6 7-6(5) 4-6

Big fight again from *1-5 to get to 4-5* She really made Barbie work hard for her win till the very last point!

First time I'm watching her play really properly, I had read several times some posters on here saying that she was the biggest moonballer ever and had a disgusting weaponless game but that's just wrong, and I am pleasantly surprised with what I've seen. She was very aggressive-minded in this match, going for most of her shots and she actually was the one who was dictating in most of the points today. I don't know, maybe she completely changed her gamestyle and her strategy because this was a WTA match and she had nothing to lose, otherwise that's just weird...

Anyways, hopefully she is very proud of herself because that was really a gutsy display from her!

Babsi just won the 2nd set against Barbie, 0-6 7-6(5)

Big heart and big fight from 3-5* down in the 2nd (and 3-5* down in the TB as well), she played bold and fully deserves to get this set!

Re: Barbara Haas

Babsi receives a main draw Wild Card for WTA Linz !

http://tennisnet.com/de/at/damen/wta...haelt-Wildcard

Quote:
Her coach (also Fed Cup captain) Jürgen Waber says: "Babsi gained much self-confidence for Linz with the 25k title at Podgorica." He is happy with Babsi`s development/improvement.

Quote:
Waber says the biggest room for improvement is how to start the point and the aggressiveness. Both these areas were not worked/trained enough in Babsi`s youth.

Quote:
Waber says: "Our goal is that Babsi reaches in 1 or 2 years the level to participate in Grand Slams. A least in qualification." Babsi is very happy that she received the Wild Card. She says she has nothing to lose and will give her best.
