Re: BATTLE; STANFORD vs FLORIDA

I've complained about Embree playing #1, but against STAN I fully endorse this decision

Embree vs Burdette, Gibbs vs Will we already saw them meet twice, 1-1 tied.
I'm tired of this matchup
Let them play against similar sized player as in boxing
Embree vs Gibbs
Will vs Burdette

But Will/Oyen lost to Burdette/Gibbs at WAATC final, in 2. And Embree/Oyen did win #2 at NCAA team
final, so it's perfectly understandable, imo.

I'm refraining from posting tons of facebook pictures of Allie But yes, Allie is one of the surliest girls on the planet. And no, she and Lauren do not like eachother.

Here's a couple of pics from today's action:

Stanford team huddle before the doubles. Think Mallory was pumped up for the match? She jumps higher than anyone else.

Florida team meeting between doubles and singles action

Florida's Allie Will

Stanford's Nicole Gibbs

Also, I will call myself out so Amalgamate doesn't have to. I said I would be very surprised if Veronica Li won, and she won. Kudos to her. I hope the Gators are able to avenge themselves when it actually counts this May!

I miss Barte on court 1. But Gibbs is great too. Good match. I mostly saw the back courts, and Mallory's win happened so quickly that I missed it. Kristie Ahn is not back 100%, but even at less than 100% she is a huge talent. Veronica Li, as is typical, was up for the big match

Good day for Stanford Tennis.
I think Florida made a big mistake in splitting up Will and Oyen.

Re: BATTLE; STANFORD vs FLORIDA

Barte is still in school I believe. I know in the Fall she studied abroad (with Natalie Dillon). Because of tennis, many athletes have to take 5 years, they still get scholarship that 5th year if the school can cover it. I did recall seeing a picture of her at graduation so I'm not sure.

Re: BATTLE; STANFORD vs FLORIDA

interesting article about Mal and Lauren's former encounter;

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the draw. We’re good friends. It’s really too bad Mallory and I had to play this early in the tournament.”
