Re: Lesley Kerkhove

Sort of winnable round but Lesley has little match practice. Hopefully she can defend her points from last year.

Re: Lesley Kerkhove

Edit, Lesley is IN! spiceboy confirmed that Sorribes Tormo's withdrawal is only a formality which means Lesley will get to play another GS here

Re: Lesley Kerkhove

After MDWC's and 2 additional withdrawal Lesley is 1 out for US Open Q I thought after her ranking had dropped she had no chance of getting in anymore but all of sudden chances are she gets in after all

Re: Lesley Kerkhove

Epic choce by Lesley

From 6-2 5*-2 to 6-2 6-7(1) 1-2*
I can easily see her win still, but nevertheless that was bad. I think there was a small rain break, that might not have helped.

2nd and 3rd round don't seem so kind though

Re: Lesley Kerkhove

Parmentier is always close to top 100, very experienced and pretty solid on clay.
So yeah, the 3-setter was bad, but at least she won. And beating Parmentier is needed if you want to be well inside the top 100, but that's still some way to go for Lesley.

Parmentier is the sort of player you really need to beat if you're to have any chance of a career beyond ITF 25ks, imo.

Plus a three-setter with the WTA-556.

Nevertheless, slam qualies are more important, glad she finally made it
