Apart from the QF at the French Open, they didn't make it past R2 anywhere outside the Internationals last year. And like I said above, it's not Martina Hingis she's playing with.
I don't agree that there isn't much potential for improvement, even with JoLa. Right now it seems like they just show up and play doubles. I could be wrong, but I doubt they spend much time practicing together and working on doubles skills and tactics. They are already pretty decent without really trying too hard. There is a lot of room for improvement, IMO.

Of course, as you said, it's all about priorities. Is it worth sacrificing some success on the singles court to win doubles titles with JoLa?

Well, I'm not seriously suggesting it's all Larsson's fault. But Larsson is not exactly Martina Hingis, iYKwIM. I really think Kiki should focus on getting her singles game back to what it was in the first half of 2016. Screw those stupid MM doubles titles; she is not losing her singles matches because of rusty volleying skills. I suppose it's a lot more fun playing doubles in sunny Australia than going home early, but her game could use some really tough love right now.

I went to bed after 3-2 in the second set. She was up a break in both sets, had 15 breakpoints in total and still lost! Really disappointing loss because with indeed some better choices it could have been the other way around.

She's not playing bad but the serve is not getting her easy points, she's not varying a lot and quite terrible on the important points.

Kiki lost 5-7, 6-7

It was cool (for me) that she was on court 13 though. I hit on that court when I was in Melbourne several years ago.

Kiki isn't in great form either. I've seen Lepchenko play before and she can play really well but at the moments she's also not playing that well. Who knows what happens tonight. Like Elwin says probably 50/50 chance.
