Re: Xenia Knöllchen

Xenia might just have ruined their first round vs. Mertens/Schuurs. She hit three double faults at 6-3, *4-3 and gave their opponents the chance to come back into the second set

Keep fighting, girls!!

Lost 6-3, 3-6, [4-10]
Went down 0-6 in the MTB after being super unlucky on deciding points in the second set which could really have swung either way.
Dzalamidze was a solid player but Xenia definitely stronger, except for the forehand obviously.

Re: Xenia Knöllchen

Won the first set 6-3 with almost flawless tennis. They really harmonise very well
Hope they can bring it home!
Xenia's overhead is the best I've ever seen .

Re: Xenia Knöllchen

They will travel straight on to Luxembourg after the final because Dzalamidze I think wants to play singles Q and they will play doubles there again.

QF: Dzalamidze/Knoll def. [4]N.Kichenok/An.Rodionova 6-3, 6-2 from 1-3 down. They won pretty much all the deciding points and saved 6/6 BPs in the second set. Impressive!!!
SF vs. Buzarnescu/Kalashnikova

Successful comeback for Xenia:
LINZ R1
Dzalamidze/Knoll def. Krajicek/Strycova 7-6(6), 3-6, [10-8].

Quite lucky to win despite getting nine points less than their opponents. Also 9 double faults

Xenia is healthy again. Nothing serious with her wrist.
Next stop is WTA Linz

Re: Xenia Knöllchen

Apparently, she ran to a ball and fell on her hand which was immediately very swollen so she could no longer hold her racquet so that she had to retire.
She will need a longer break now although no bones were broken in the process.

Re: Xenia Knöllchen

It was Xenia who retired with a left hand injury
She is just so very unlucky
