Re: Melanie Oudin

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Mel's old forehand. I'll take the off kilter thing that sometimes blasted balls into the net, and three feet long, but won her a bunch of matches over the "fixed" version that consistently puts attackable balls in the middle of the court (run, sentence, run ). The backhand's an improvement, they should've left the forehand alone

Hopefully she can get back to that level. Her forehand didn't really do much damage in the match I saw. Her backhand was top 100 easily.

Re: Melanie Oudin

Tough loss today for Mel, but she and Sanaz won the doubles title

Tomorrow she's back in action in Ilkley QR1.

Thanks! Sounds like she's rounding into form.

I think things might be starting to click for her now. We'll see!

Re: Melanie Oudin

Hopeful she can get an early start on the grass and get some momentum there. But it can take a while. Xtina seems to be finally getting her game back after her illness, how long did that take? Could be a long haul for little Mel
