And Keys could have been broken by anyone playing decent tennis today

When Ash fell in the start, I thought she slipped but in replay she just tumbled backwards. So embarrassing.
She definitely needs to get fit and improve her movement. While at it consistency as well in her shots.

And what the hell is she doing playing slice returns and not even being able to get it in? I mean that's beginner level play like I do playing on Friday nights social...

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Why does she go 5 meters behind the baseline after starting every point.... just stay on the baseline are you like repelled backwards??

It makes no sense how she can play so shit after Strasburg

Shame Ash lost to Dasha. I thought she was going to win that tie-break. But not to worry. That backhand let her down today.

^ I have a feeling she would have to beat 2 Aussies to win the singles title

Quite impressive to have 3 Aussies in the QF of a WTA tournament. Bet it hasn't happened in a long time

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Ash doing so well this week! Has made the dubs final too.

So if by some miracle, she wins the dubs final and gets the singles title, she'll have won a singles/doubles double twice this year, with both singles wins coming as a qualifier. Now if anyone else has ever done that ever, I'll eat my hat.

Re: Ashleigh Barty

This is a different Ash for sure. I still think she can improve in a lot of areas, but one thing she has developed is maturity and getting out of trouble in serve.

She didn't play amazing but still won with a dominating score line against dangerous opponent.
