Re: Karin Knapp

Disappointing result today but at least Karin scored a couple of wins and showed some positive signs.

The stats may be a bit misleading. I saw a number of long rallies but Yulia was a human backboard today committing only six errors so someone has to make an error at some point and in this match is was Karin eventually.

Re: Karin Knapp

lost 16 16!

37 UEs in 14 games, that says it all, obviously not possible to win a match with such stats, I haven´t seen much but what I saw was as bad as the stats suggest it

Anyway, good tournament for Karin still, she will always has such days in between but hopefully more good days than bad days in future again, also has to keep working on her fitness obviously and stay healthy!

I haven´t seen her on any grass Entry Lists before Wimbledon, she might play Eastbourne Q, before she is on the ELs from Brescia and Essen (both 50k), I doubt it that she will already play again next week but we´ll see if she shows up in Essen.

Re: Karin Knapp

Karin into R3 of French Open !

Just wonderful. It was a big chance to reach R3 and Karin used it. So happy

A very important win. Now R3 vs Putintseva. Not bad draw. Viel Glück

Re: Karin Knapp

So happy for Karin beating Vika the other day and now into the third round. When I first saw the draw I feared another first round exit. Anything more is gravy (or should I say sauce?)
Hoping she can push this further and into the Round of 16!

Re: Karin Knapp

Knapp def. Sevastova 63 64

Good play from Karin today mostly!
Sevastova seemed to be annoyed, don´t know why, maybe she was not satisfied with her game or she was annoyed by Karin´s screams
Anyway, Karin had more power, her serve was working well and she was able to avoid stupid UEs mostly.
Of course, she has her up and downs and seemed a bit brainless in some situations but overall a good performance.
Sevastova herself was not able to dictate the rallies for most of the time, hit too many UEs also (19 UEs), as much as Karin but Karin had 22 Winners (Sevastova only 12)

Karin had a MP at 53* already and hit a nice winner and already thought she won but it was out and later at *54 she was 0-30 down but was able to turn it around, thanks to her great first serve, hit an ace in the end!

Putintseva next, Karin has the weapons to beat her, like she already did in Nürnberg last year, hope she can do it again, already great tournament anywy

Re: Karin Knapp

Congrats on beating #5 Azarenka in French Open R1, Karin !

A bit lucky. But who cares. Top 5 win ! Fantastic. Many important ranking points won

Sevastova is VERY beatable. I hope Karin serves well and plays aggressive tennis

Re: Karin Knapp

so proud of the way she played her best match in a long time.. even if this really should have ended after two sets

Let's make the third round here Karin

Re: Karin Knapp

Karin def. Azarenka 63 67 40 ret.

Shame that she couldn´t finish it in two sets, would have been a nicer end of the match, in the 3rd set Azarenka´s injury got worse but Karin really played a good match herself, played some great tennis, moved good for her standards, many positive things which she can take from that match!

Sevastova next, beatable if Karin plays good tennis but won´t be easy but she can do it!

Re: Karin Knapp

Karin served for the match twice at *54 and *65 and had a MP in the TB

Quality in the TB was good, Karin couldn´t do anything there but she could have done better when she served for it, now I feel the worst

Re: Karin Knapp

Roland Garros

Knapp vs. Azarenka (5)

well, Azarenka was injured, maybe there will be a big surprise but I doubt it, easy win for Azarenka here normally, if all goes normal

Re: Karin Knapp

OUT of Nürnberg

the announced it on twitter that Karin is out because of "medical reasons", must be quite serious, Nürnberg is a good place for her, 280 points gone and even worse, she still has problems with her health obviously

Re: Karin Knapp

lost 26 26
no chance although it could have been closer but Karin wasted all her BPs!

Not too surprising, Strycova´s gamestyle is not good at all or Karin, hope she can get a good draw in Nürnberg to defend some of her points from last year at least but she won´t be seeded so she needs some luck.

Re: Karin Knapp

Karin played well here last year and almost won her match vs. Kvitova in the second round but choked a 5-2 lead, I think

I think she might surprise even though I'm not too confident Good Luck
