Wonder what her immediate plans will be? No doubt will include Fed Cup in three weeks, but she doesn't seem to have signed up for the Tassie ITF's. Maybe Taipei if she makes the quallie draw?
She said no immediate plan

Q. Do this week's results change the expectations for the rest of the year?
ASHLEIGH BARTY: Not in my mind, no. I'll have a sitdown and have a discussion with my team, with Tyzzer and Narelle, sort of work out what we want to do scheduling-wise. Expectations, no.

Q. Are you going to play singles against Ukraine in a couple weeks?
ASHLEIGH BARTY: Yes, if I'm called upon and get a chance to represent my country again, absolutely I'll do whatever Moll and Pratty want me to do.

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Shame she couldn't push on into the second week, but still a very good result. Only saw patches of the match but she seemed to be hitting the ball very well and her attitude and body language was very good. I was very impressed by her calm response to winning the second set. No big fist pumps or anything, she just walked calmly to her chair to prepare for the third set. Apparently she got a bit tense in the end, but she seems both mentally and physically so much more mature now than in her previous career

Bad luck for Ash. Unfortunately Mona's level didn't drop throughout the match, played a very high level throughout.

Could you imagine

Barthel (very winnable) 3rd round
Venus (very winnable) 4th round

so exciting for this kid.

She played so great last night and I'm so happy to see the general public and the hardnosed TF community really warm to her again.

A winnable R3 against Barthel and a looming R4 against Venus is just

Also won dubs today against the Kichenoks Will be back in top 200 in dubs too

This is a huge win for her. First Grand Slam third round!!

Now a great chance to make her first Grand Slam fourth round. She's played Barthel once before (Hobart R1 2013, lost 2-6, 6-0, 6-1). Barthel followed up her first round dismissal of Aiava with a good 6-4 6-4 win over Puig.

By reaching the third round at the AO, Barty has moved to No.150 in the live rankings. If she wins into R4, she'd be up to No.127 in the world.
Good write up. Well done Ash.
