Re: Victoria Muntean

Vic makes her first QF in 25K ever this week she defeated Kukharchuk 12/10 in the TB in the decider awesome or her

Talking about Sophie, I watched her last year in August on a local tournament (she lost in three sets). Her game is pretty pleasant and she's still young and promising .

Re: Victoria Muntean

Sophie played G4 Jurmala Cup in Latvia this week.

She had a tough loss in R1 (6-7(3) 6-7(2) to Hanna Sokal ) in singles but she had a good run to the dubs final with Sofya Trescheva ()!

They were the 2nd seeds, sadly fell to Belarusian 3rd seeds Yemelyanenka/Yersh 2 & 4 in the final, but that still was a good run with a lovely partner

(Sophie is the one on the left )

Vic played the 2nd Bangkok 15K this week, but she lost in R1 again even though her opponent looked easier than last week's technically, 0-6 5-7 against Alice Bacquié

Re: Victoria Muntean

Vic's broken into the Top 500 for the very first time last week, reaching a new CHR of 488 (+50)

With her prize moneys, she could buy herself a nice trip to Thailand Playing 15K Bangkok this week!

But she drew the 2nd seed Ayaka Okuno (WTA 298) in R1 Good luck Vic!

As for Sophie, she made another SFs last week at G5 National Sport Park Open in Tirana, Albania.

She was the 2nd seed there, fell to Russian 5th seed Anastasia Golubeva, 2 & 2.

She also made the QFs at G4 Herotodou Tennis Academy the week before in Cyprus. She scored a good win over 4th seed Georgia Drummy (#274) in R2, 6-1 7-6(3), fell to Timea Pavlickova in SF, 2 & 2.

Sophie reached a junior CHR of 718 (+155) last week, will be even higher in the new rankings this week.

Victoria's junior CHR was "only" 337 (even though I'm not sure she played much in juniors), wonder what Sophie's will be

After a 2-week break, Vic played again in SES this week.

She was the 4th seed, beat (Q)Lili Fekete 4 & 3 in R1, and (WC)Sabrina Bamburac 1 & 0 in R2, but got a disappointing loss in QF, 3 & 1 to (5)Sara Ottomano

Vic has a little sister, Sophie, who also plays tennis. She made the SFs of a G4 in Portugal this week, as a qualifier.

She beat Carla Girbau Romero 6-1 4-6 6-4 in R1, (4)Marta Oliveira 1 & 3 in R2 and Stefaniya Surikova 1 & 4 in QF, before falling to Francisca Jorge in SF, 2-6 7-5 2-6.

Good week!

Re: Victoria Muntean

Well To be honest not jumping of joy seing her winning one of the weakest tif tournament ever. In fact Victoria results are not relevant. I did expect more from her. She will turn 18 and still look like a junior. I know everyone has its own rythme but well i thought she would be better than that by now...
