Heather, wishing you a speedy recovery. This illness has taken all the fight out of her.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

Sounds like the illness / breathing problems are a separate issue from the back pain:

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

Poor Heather 0-6 at the USO now (0-7 including qualifying). Not exactly what we expected after winning the juniors here.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

She mentioned that she was having trouble breathing on the MTO. Jo Durie thought it was an upper back injury, that was therefore part of her ribcage, thus causing breathing problems.

I think it was some sort of back pain. She was taking medication for it.

Hopefully she will be ok for the doubles.. She's playing with Krajicek. I also wonder if she is playing mixed doubles...

I feel bad for Hev but also happy for Hogenkamp, as this win is a big deal for her.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

Heather is playing but has an injury or illness of some sort. Lost first set 2-6.

Getting to the 3rd round would be a big step forward. Let's hope it happens. She gets better the more matches she plays.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

Hev draws a qualifier in the first round at the US open. Second round would be Babos/qualifier. If she got to the third round, would most likely be playing Halep.

Getting to the second week of the US open should be a big priority.
