Re: Tammi Patterson

It's obviously a big concern that Tammi has played these Aus ITF events with no pressure because she's a casual semi-retired player. Because of this she did well in some events and bombed out in round 1 in others.
It's great she gets a spot in the AO MD, but receiving that is an honour and she needs to be serious about her career and travel after it. I can see her being competitive against anyone, as she's a big baseline hitter, but then we don't hear from her again after that until same time around next year.

Tammi comments about winning the wildcard:

Re: Tammi Patterson

Hopefully her time coaching included telling lots of kids to play percentage tennis instead of randomly walloping the ball and some of this has crept into her own game...

Re: Tammi Patterson

Bumping the orginial thread for Tammi.

Very exciting for her that she has been awarded an AO main draw wildcard.

TA should help her out the weeks before with a couple of quallie w/c's (or an outside chance for a Hobart main draw w/c considering Storm got one this year). There might not be enough Brisbane quallie ones to go around, but she really needs as much tour exposure in the two weeks before as possible for the AO to get her prepared.

Didn't know that she was suffered an achilles injury during this year. Quite a diffiuclt injury to recover from.

Here's hoping for a full 2016 season for Tammi and a push well inside the top 250 ranks.

^ Yes, Marija got to the final round one year. This is Tammi's best victory, though she has been able to beat both Gadjosova and Rogowska, however both of these were in the AO wildcard playoffs.

Great victory by Tammi. It's amazing how far she has moved since a few weeks ago when she only won 3 games against Perez on hardcourts. Is this the Pliskova that can go ballastic with aces, or is that her sister? Either way 3 of the 4 wins have now been 7-5 or 6-4 in the 3rd, nice to see some steel in Tammi's game for a change.

I don't she has much to defend till that 50K at the end of the year. So hopefully this is more than an abberation.
