Re: Jennifer Elie!

She won it in another tough 3 set battle.
4-6 7-5 6-4 was the scoreline in the end.
This means new CHR in 2 weeks. At 30 years old too.

Now against Zaniewska or Myers. I have a feeling that Zaniweska won't be easy.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Minokoshi will be her R1 opponent so she avoided stronger qualifiers. H2H is 1-1 but she won it fairly easy on HC last year.

She will be ranked as high as 287 if no one surpasses her next week. So with a solid showing here in Brisbane she would make a new CHR.

Good Luck Jen. Make the QF at least.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Sadly she lost it in three after losing a close 2nd set. Maybe she was still a bit tired since she finished past midnight the day before.

The draw for Brisbane is already out. She should make the QF again.

(6)Jennifer Elie (USA) v Q
(wc)Abbie Myers (AUS) v Q
(wc)Olivia Gadecki (AUS) v Tammi Patterson (AUS)
(3)Miyu Kato (JPN) v (wc)Alexandra Bozovic (AUS

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Jen takes the first set 6-3. Hopefully she can continue her good play in the second and take it in straights. Go Jen

Come on, JenE! Great job to get to SF

Destanee is good though and I guess has been on fire in the money tournaments in Australia over the past month or so. It will be a tough match.
Sometimes maybe

JenE beat Destanee 6-0 6-1 this year but you're right Aiava is in much better form right now.

Great chance for another final against Aiava tommorow.
Get it girl and don't celebrate too much.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Jennifer Elie def. Alicia Smith 7-6(2) 6-2

Wow first set was a real rollercoaster. 3-0 to 3-5 to 5-5 to 5-6 to 7-6.
Next opponent is not known yet, either Da Silva Fick or Parnaby.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

She deserves some of those though. She always gets the tough ones normally.

(1)Jennifer Elie (USA) v (wc)Alicia Smith (AUS)
(wc)Alana Parnaby (AUS) v Q
Stefanie Tan (SIN) v Hao Chen Tang (CHN)
(8)Tereza Mihalikova (SVK) v Georgia Brescia (ITA)

QF should be a lock with that draw but Mihalikova shouldn't be underestimated.

Let's go Jen.
Get that AO Q spot.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Guess what: JenE will be back in Australia next week.
She's starting with 25K Tweed Heads and she'll be the 1st seed there due to her strong results over the summer.
Never ever in my life I have seen JenE being the 1st seed in a 25K.

Hopefully she will have a strong fall so we can see her in AO QD in 2017.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

I saw the last two sets of the match in person. Jen was so fired up and fist pumping in the second. It's sad the third set got away so quickly but she fought to the end.
