Texas is paying him $188,000.

A&M hired him at $110 in 2011. I assume he got a solid raise after making the finals. I'm sure 188 is a raise, but I doubt it's that big. I hear the coaches make nearly 6 figures in camp alone at A&M. Texas doesn't even have courts to have camp on, which I guess is OK if you're getting paid $188 to coach tennis!

I think it was probably more about the lifestyle than the money.

I just dropped in to give beachman jr. a poke or two.

Well it's women's volleyball season so I'll be going and may be back in the Spring.

P.S. Whenever I see the MTV show Catfish, about pretending to be someone else online, I think of my buddy Form.

This video is hilarious, specially Mark the Catfish King!

As usual, after a years absence, our Irvine friend is back with assumptions.

Joffe is a heck of a coach and really did wonders in a hurry at A&M. He simply made a $$$ and lifestyle decision by taking the job in Austin.

Agreed, it will take a year to put his stamp on recruiting. And I'd be shocked if A&M let any girl transfer to follow the coach to Austin. That's not how the business works.

Jeesh, it's early September and Gouci is off his rocker already. Welcome back.

LMFAO at you Gouci.... you as usual assume. It wasn't St. Mary's that made that decision. I know that for a fact.

The bigger question is will Joffe take any TAMU players with him? When Joffe jumped ship from Maryland he made out like a thief in the night with Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar who became a top 5 ranked singles player her senior year. How Maryland could allow that heist boggles the mind.

That is a good hire, Stephanie will do well. She got a bad deal at SFA as 6 players transferred when Sullivan left, she was a solid coach at Lee JC before they closed down the program.

LSU:

Julia and Michael Sell Named Co-Head Coaches

Quote:
Michael Sell, who has served on the women’s tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach the last three seasons, will join his wife full-time to continue the program’s impressive upward momentum since Julia Sell was hired in 2012. The team is coming off one of the top seasons in the history of the program.

Next Mike makes the brilliant move to add Sullivan as associate head coach.

With Mike's reputation for developing players and being a former A&M player, mixed in with Sullivan's reputation for recruiting, this should be a strong move for Aggie tennis in the Big 12.

A&M made a great hire and in turn Weaver made another fantastic hire for an asst. A&M should be very good, if Weaver can replace the ones who transferred.
