I think I missed the first 5 episodes of this series; anyone care to give a quick plot summary?

Did a bit more investigation, and it appears Katie Dougherty's wife(?) is about to give birth, so I think I was wrong to doubt that this was her decision.

Dougherty jumps. (Perhaps that's unfair, and she's left for 100% personal reasons.)

Scatliffe resigns from Pacific

Stockton, Calif. - Charlotte Scatliffe resigned as head coach of the Pacific women's tennis team. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

Scatliffe just completed her fourth season at the helm of the Tigers. Pacific posted a 7-12 overall record and 2-7 West Coast Conference mark with a lineup of one junior (WCC All-Academic selection Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz) and six freshmen. One of the freshmen, Viktoriya Dzyuba, was named All-West Coast Conference, going 14-2 overall, 5-1 in the WCC with the lone loss coming to the WCC Player & Freshman of the Year.

Scatliffe resigned to pursue other opportunities outside of coaching.

"This has been a difficult decision," she said. "I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have made so many wonderful relationships over the past four years here at Pacific. I would like to send a special thank you to the community of Stockton, my Pacific family and administration, and of course to all of my former student athletes. My players allowed me to guide them through their college experience and I feel so lucky to have been a part of this fantastic time in their lives. I am incredibly proud of their accomplishments on an off the court and look forward to seeing their lives flourish."

Scatliffe joined Pacific after the 2011-12 season, following a decade at her alma mater, UC Santa Barbara, as a player and coach.

Texas is paying him $188,000.

A&M hired him at $110 in 2011. I assume he got a solid raise after making the finals. I'm sure 188 is a raise, but I doubt it's that big. I hear the coaches make nearly 6 figures in camp alone at A&M. Texas doesn't even have courts to have camp on, which I guess is OK if you're getting paid $188 to coach tennis!

I think it was probably more about the lifestyle than the money.

I just dropped in to give beachman jr. a poke or two.

Well it's women's volleyball season so I'll be going and may be back in the Spring.

P.S. Whenever I see the MTV show Catfish, about pretending to be someone else online, I think of my buddy Form.

This video is hilarious, specially Mark the Catfish King!

As usual, after a years absence, our Irvine friend is back with assumptions.

Joffe is a heck of a coach and really did wonders in a hurry at A&M. He simply made a $$$ and lifestyle decision by taking the job in Austin.

Agreed, it will take a year to put his stamp on recruiting. And I'd be shocked if A&M let any girl transfer to follow the coach to Austin. That's not how the business works.

Jeesh, it's early September and Gouci is off his rocker already. Welcome back.

LMFAO at you Gouci.... you as usual assume. It wasn't St. Mary's that made that decision. I know that for a fact.
