Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

The player who wanted the win more won - like so often. Siniakova wanted the win more, fought very hard and was feistier. Anna-Lena seemed to be not 100 % motivated and focused. I guess she is mentally and physically tired after a long season. Anna-Lena needs a break now to recover and then be at 100 % for 2016

I agree with you, Michi, that she has to work on consistency and mental toughness

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Siniakova def. Friedsam 75 26 63

I only was able to watch parts of it, 1st set she should have won, had 43* 40-15 and then made two cheap return errors, after that she got too negative and first set was over.
Too many DFs again today in general and no chance on return in 3rd set, shame, Siniakova was beatable today.

QF is still a decent result at the end of the year, hope that she will get into MD at the Australian Open, ca. 100 in the rankings right now, so not 100% sure yet.
Consitency/mental toughness are the two things she has to work on, hopefully no bigger injuries in 2016 and then she should be able to stay inside the top 100 at least without any problems.

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Honestly, I wasn't expecting a win here, well done ALF!

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

ALF def. Paszek 76(1) 64

came back from 3-5 in 1st set, early break in 2nd set was enough for the win, 9 aces to 4 DFs and good stats, good win for ALF, wasn´t able to watch it myself unfortunately.
Parmentier/Siniakova next, maybe she can get one win more...

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Not surprised that ALF would have some trouble here, Blinkova wouldnt have beaten Mandy if she couldnt play tennis very well. Close match, 95-88 total points in favor to ALF at the end, so nice to see that shes in good shape.

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Friedsam def. Blinkova 63 26 63

not in two but in three, 6 aces and 1 DF, stats are ok, no clue about Blinkova´s gamestyle so tough to judge anything more.
Paszek/Mitu next, I do hope that she can win that as well but not sure if ALFs shape is still good enough but Melbourne MD is safe, so that´s most important.

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

WTA 125 Limoges

ALF (8) vs. Qualfier

Kozlova could be really tough, all other qualifiers should be beatable for sure!
2nd round would be against Mitu/Paszek (would have faced one of them in QF in Nantes as well)

so hopefully she can reach QF here, would be a good finish of the season!

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Chirico def. Friedsam 26 63 62

Not a good result, started really good but no chance in the end, 10 aces weren´t enough as she just was too weak on her 2nd serve and also on return.
Limoges next, hope for a good draw there and maybe one or two wins and then she hopefully has a good off season and in 2016 she hopefully is able to get more consistent in her results, mentally stronger and hopefully stays injury free obviously..

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

Solid 64 63 win over Shapatava in 1:15, next is Chirico or Andrianjafitrimo.

Dont understand why ITF is not able to offer regular streams at least for 50k or higher tournaments on CC.

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

ALF def. Shapatava 64 63

was an early break down and hit too many DFs in 1st set but no trouble after that slow start, 2nd set her serve was goating, 8 Aces, 6 DFs
Probably Chirico next, hope she can win that as well, should be able to finish the season within the top 100!!

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

(1)Anna-Lena Friedsam (GER) def. Ipek Soylu (TUR) 7-5 6-4

Some bigger problems over 2nd serve, especially in 2nd set but never in danger, decent start, hope she can improve her serve a bit!
Ferro or Q next, Ferro another youngster but resultswise worse than Soylu, so Q or Ferro, both should be fine for ALF...

Re: Anna-Lena Friedsam

There's a lot of talent in her quarter, though.
