Re: Ana Bogdan

Lost in straights to Blinkova in Budapest qualies... really horrible results ever since the aussie open. Making a push for top100 or at least direct slam entry seems like something out of a science-fiction novel at this point

Re: Ana Bogdan

Yeah, that was bad...

Next tournament is WTA Budapest (qualies) .

Edit: She'll play QR1 there on the 18th of February, if there are people interested in going.

Ridiculous loss as the first seed last week... can't even win a match at 25k level now

Re: Ana Bogdan

When I saw the draw, I was really hoping she won't get Pera

Anyway... pretty disappointing. She didn't play St. Pete in order to get some points here and couldn't even win a match

edit. at least took home a finalist trophy in dubs..

A totally unexpected end this week, but the most important thing is we made a great team playing for the first time together, we earned the first trophy this year and we kept smiling till the end even if life gave us a tough lesson.
Thank you, @roscaioana20 for the beautiful moments we had on and off court! I wish you a speedy recovery from your injury and I hope you will come back stronger and sooner than you imagine! #another#kind of #celebration✨ #wecelebrateinstyle #doubletrouble

Re: Ana Bogdan

Back to ITF for Ana. Got arguably the hardest qualifier but otherwise her draw looks good. Obviously not many points here so hopefully she will go far in order to rise closer to the top100.
Btw. took a WC in dubs as well and already won first round with Ioana Rosca

Re: Ana Bogdan

From the Treizecizero interview, when asked about her late blooming career.

"Clearly it's never too late. Many people told me it would be time to quit and I am too old anyway at my age. Ever since I turned 21 they've been saying 'well, if you're ranked around 300-400 at 21, you're better off retiring.' But why [would that be]?? If that's my goal, I would follow that road even when I am 30 years old.

As you get older, you gain more experience. That's what I was telling the people who are here with me: compared to the US Open I was able to mage my qualifying matches much better. It was a lot easier than at the US open. There, after qualifying, I felt as if I'd played three tournaments; I was that exhausted psychologically, not physically. But here was easier. The more you get through them [qualifying matches], the easier it becomes.

There are some athletes who have all the luck; they come through good academies; they have an entire team behind them, a physiotherapist, anything they need including sponsors and they break through earlier. And there are those who do not have access to these facilities and they need to work that much harder. Actually, the most important thing is your belief and willpower. Age does not matter; what you have to go through in order to get there does not matter. No matter how hard it is, as long as you want and believe in that, it can happen!"

Re: Ana Bogdan

Couldn't watch the match as I put all my effort in staying awake for the Niculescu match (which I didn't even fully succeed at anyway ) but the score doesn't look that bad and she also seemed in good spirits afterwards:

Ana Bogdan Ó?i caut? drumul. ?Top 100 nu e neap?rat un obiectiv, ci doar o etap?. Mul?i mi-au spus c? mai bine m? las. De ce s? m? las??

Re: Ana Bogdan

She actually played really well at times, especially when I was watching early in the second set. Am sure she'll get better at playing big points once she gets more experience at this level.
