Re: Alex Stevenson's Chat Thread. (!!!)

Alex was supposed to be back playing next week and the following week, but has withdrawn from all tournaments. Hope she's not injured.

Re: Alex Stevenson's Chat Thread. (!!!)

Alex goes down in 2 hours.. 7-6 (4), 6-3.

Had a SP on Darts serve at 6-5 40-30* but it wasn't to be. .

Alex was rushing to the net 3 of every 4 points in the first set which was great to see, but went away from that completely in the second set.

Alex and the chair umpire had an argument, over a point which I think brought up match point for Dart. Alex was at the net and let the ball go, as it WAS long, but the umpire called it in "despite not being able to see the line very well there". Alex didn't like that answer one bit

I wonder whether she'll be off back Home now, or will stay for the clay events at Mornington, I think she'll be very close to making the MD at Mornington. Fingers crossed she stays

Interestingly Alex has priory one for the $60,000 in China the week after, she's so far out of qualifying though so she won't be going there. There is a weeks gap in between Mildura and then 2 $25,000 events on clay in Mornington. Which I'm surprised to see Alex has entered.

But Mornington is my neck of the woods. So if she stays.. I'll be there. I'm so excited.
It surely hasn't gone well for her, this Oz fling. Love Oz (and Aussies) very much.

How in the world must they be LIVING from place to place? Not getting out of qualifying in backwater events is not a pathway to roach-free hotel rooms.

I mean, Australia IS a continent. Even for the tourist who visits Oz for only TWO WEEKS with plenty of vacay-money ($10,000 would be a decent budget for two weeks), it's expensive to sleep and eat, much less string equipment and gadabout the provinces.

Maybe Sexy and Mum are skinning & B-B-Qing roos, pitching tents here and there. That might fit-in with the paleo-diet that Sexy was swearing-by a few years ago.

Maybe Sexy is boxing roos for quick cash in various towns.

Maybe she is milking venom from funnel-web spiders.

Maybe they are camping in places. Hey, it could be the case.

I just don't EVER want to wake up and see the following international headline:

'Elderly, Irritating American Woman Emerges from Tent Screaming, "A Dingo Took My Sexy! A DINGO Took My Sexy!"

😉

Hey, enjoy the tennis if you get to see her near your town, and give her our best, no matter how she's playing. We all love her. Hope she pulls something together.

Re: Alex Stevenson's Chat Thread. (!!!)

Alex and Tessah went down 7-6 6-1.

It just mirrors Alex's singles match.. had set point In the first set too. .

I watched the stream for the first few games of the first set before I had to go out, and from what I could hear, Alex is a very supportive doubles partner. Very encouraging to her partner for this week. I took special note of that!

From just watching the few games you can see that Alex is a much better doubles player than singles these days too. Her net play was very good, great anticipation.

Sexy still attracting crowds after all these years. 🤣

But seriously, drive carefully and enjoy the event. These ITF events are always fun to attend, and FREE, and one does get to see world-class competition, some interesting and hard-fought matches, etc.

Have fun and give our best to Sexy if you see her!

Re: Alex Stevenson's Chat Thread. (!!!)

Nice she got a dubs win!

Good GRIEF if this woman put ALL of her efforts into a doubles career, something redeeming could possibly come of it.

She'll never even come close to the Top 300 again, but I absolutely believe she has the talent to be a potentially fabulous doubles player.

Come on, Sexy.
