Doing a job like that in your driveway and getting it right? I admire you. I changed the oil last week and somehow managed to lose the dipstick.
I know. I had to correct some fool who thought she was like 5'5" the other day.

Oh, the ongoing saga of the Scirocco. I bought it about a year ago. It's currently out at a friends barn where he and I work on it on weekends. Bought it for $1000. Wasn't running when I got it, but I wanted a PROJECT.

So we've gutted it, cleaned out the rust, redone the brakes (mostly), replaced the swaybars, new alternator, some new gaskets and seals, filters, clutch, clutch bushings, seats, exhaust bits, fixed the parking brake, rewired it (not sure if we did it right because a lot of stuff has bad motors) and got it running.

Next week I'm not working on it because it's Mother's Day, but then after that I'm going to install my new racing seat and the new hatch lock and see if enough electricals are working to pass inspection.

Any joke I can think of about that falls rather flat, now that Masha has actually covered that market for real.

Re: Johanna-Jenny Larsson

And since nobody seems to agree with me, I'll just agree with myself. I re-listened to the podcast interview, just to make sure I wasn't making things up.

In the very beginning she's asked/talking about what it means to have an agent, a new situation for her. She says it's great to have someone help her take care of the sponsor end of things, so she only has to worry about tennis when she's out there playing. She then named two of her sponsors, and since I was transcribing the interview, and didn't quite get the name of one of them, I set out to find them. I checked her IG account, her facebook page, googled various spellings of the name I thought I heard… nothing. I mean, if I can't find the names of her sponsors when I'm actively looking for them, then I think someone is doing something wrong. And I don't think the problem is at my end. And then (in the interview) she talked about the importance of marketing yourself on social media, etc. So what she's saying just doesn't add up with what she's doing - or not doing - in the marketing department, on social media, etc.

Feel free to reiterate your… achievements… in the Nordic category.

And don't worry, as a Norrlander Johanna is used to both rust and ingenious problem-solving in the mechanical department. She won't care if your car is held together by duct tape or reindeer leather strings.

So was my ex. And, of course, so is the Holy Mother of Moscow who is the paragon of feminine perfection and the template of divine beauty.

We need not reiterate my long history with tall women of Nordic descent, skinny, sturdy or in-between.

Not that anyone cares, but changing the CV boot on a Scirocco is stupid hard. All I ever see JoLa post about eating is pastry, licorice, meatballs, and ice cream.

I'm beginning to wonder about her training regimen.

Of course, in Norrland one has to eat about 13.5 kilograms of fat daily to keep from freezing to death. And that's in the summer.

Hmm. I don't pretend to know anything about the world of promotion and personal branding. (All my marketing knowledge, such as it is, is corporate and product based.)

So no - I'm afraid I have no opinion.

Nobody has an opinion on this? Am I too critical?

For example, she mentioned two of her sponsors in the podcast, and I didn't quite catch the name of one of them. Where do you think I can find that information? Nowhere, that's where. Not on her Instagram, not on her sorry excuse of a FB page, not on twitter (she's not there), and not on her homepage (doesn't have one). Nowhere. Let's just say I hope her sponsors are happy, whoever they are.
