I'm shocked to hear that Tennis Australia can advertise an event as Platinum and then downgrade it to Silver. You should write a letter to them threatening to take them to the Small Claims Tribunal if they don't reimburse for your flight and accommodation costs!
I heard about this so many times. Everyone having problem to get a refund from there...im driving there so no help. I dont think Tennis Australia would be affraid of me , they would take it as another complain ....but it is frustrating... I will have to play there for sure now...and try to win

It was advertised as platinum. Entries are closed and now after 5 days of closure they write its silver ???
Unfortunately Tennis Australia has a reputation of doing what they feel like, doesn't make it right though!

Wow, how disappointing. It seems like all the AMTs you enter lately seem to be cutting as many corners as they in $$$ terms. Ugh, so frustrating that the directors don't consider the impact on the players At least they could do it before the withdrawal date or tell you before entering, that a tournament level decrease would likely happen

Anyway, I agree, hope you play Mildura, an ITF, so you can get some better prizemoney and a few points.

But we thought it would be alright because it was covered by ITF.

Um, do you have time left in Australia to sign up for Mildura?

It's a 25k, and I'd love the idea of you playing a proper, traditional Australian grasscourt tournament.
I played two years in a row in Mildura so I know it there :-) i will play Port Pirie 100% and Mildura not sure

Acceptance lists now available. Doubles players without partners who have not emailed "gapalmer@optusnet.com.au" who their partner will be by 4pm Wednesday (tomorrow) will be partnered with their nearest ranked person as per the regulations. TA has advised that the Mens Singles prizemoney is now $7500 and the Womens Singles prizemoney is $2500. Womens downgraded to a Silver AMT due to the womens pro tour event in Perth being the same week.

Thats for platinum playford week before port pirie. I entered because I wanted to play platinum. Now I read this message...
They found out 9.2.2016 that there is a tournament pro event in the same time so they will cut prize money. Do you really think guys this is normal? I just dont have words((((
It's pretty tough to keep changing the tournaments like this.. I'm going to be guessing this is why there aren't a lot of people trying to do what you do, there's so much unpredictability!

Do you know tournament numbers? Because they could be down (like other one) which is why they slashed the prize pool and they are just saying that the reason there is no one to play, is the tournaments in Perth. That's the only explanation I can think of. Yes, it seems rather stupid to suddenly realise there are ITFs on...the other side of the country!
I think 45 girls is enough girls.... I mean they still could cut it and reduce it to 75% but now its only silver :-(
