Kasia lost to Juhaszova 3-6 4-6 Maybe a bit tired from yesterday's three-setter but still... And she was up 4-2 in the second set this time.

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

Kasia is on quite a good wave now, reaching her best ranking this week (No. 252)
She defeated today Alberta Brianti in 25k Beinasco first round, 5-7 7-6(5) 6-4 by saving three consecutive match points at 5-6* 0-40 in the second set She spent the first two sets making comebacks actually, from 0-4 to 5-4 in the first, from 2-4 to 5-4 in the second as well, and the three match points finally. Then she went up 5-1 in the final set, got broken back once, and closed it out on a convincing last service game 6-4.

She's seeded 4 in this tournament, and she has a good draw until the semifinals at least (where she could face Rus or maybe Schnyder). So good points to grab She's not too far from making the cut-off for a GS qualifying draw for the first time of her life. Will be interesting to see where she's going to go from now, as she definitely seems to be top 200 material.

Miyu Kato will be a tough one in the semis, she's fresh and solid. Win it all anyway Kasia

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

She saved a set point in the first set.
I was expecting a much faster victory, but with Kasia K you never know. She can struggle but still manage to win against any opponent, from the underdog to the huge favourite, all the way to the trophy

By the way, thanks to her title last week she will move up to about #285 in next week's rankings, so finally back into the top 300

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

Second 25k title for Kasia (and 3rd of any kind this year) as she takes the trophy in Makinohara! She defeated Sawayanagi 6-7(6) 6-2 7-6(6) That's a very good win given Riko had won easily all her previous matches this week.

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

Good week for her But what the hell happened in the final set against Kinard, apparently she was up *5-0 30-0 before having to deal with her opponent's comeback to 5-5

Good luck in the final, even if Sawayanagi is the huge favourite to win it all. Kasia can do wonders though

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

Kasia lost in R2 of 25k Podgorica this week to eventual winner Barbara Haas 6-4 3-6 3-6, but she was up 3-1 in the final set and is actually the one who challenged Haas the best. She's having a pretty good year She just lacks the little more needed to win this kind of matches that she had two years ago.

Re: The talent from Krynica - Kasia Kawa

She probably just wanted to leave as soon as possible as she was expected to play Q in Sobota
She has drawn Poznikhirenko there and it's going to be tough, Ganna is in great form at the moment. 4-4 in the first set currently.

Having a pretty decent season - should be 320 in Race after a win over Oprandi.
Lost to Sadikovic 0-6 2-6

I agree - she's doing well this spring/summer nevertheless Beating decent players with higher rank
