Re: Caroline Garcia

Hi guys from Madrid.

I met Caroline today, and what should have been a great experience for me turned out to be a very sad one. I requested a 1 on 1 with her and she surprisingly accepted after her loss, but she was so devastated and upset. She was crying and i felt really bad for her so i had to keep the interview very short and make sure i didn't ask her something to upset her more so i didn't get some of the answers you wanted.

She was still very nice despite all of that even though she wasn't in a talkative mood.

I saw the first part of the match as i had some free time and Caro was excellent. I thought at one point she could win with a double bagel. But i left the match for Del Potro's press conference and to speak with Benoit Paire and she looked to have collapsed

Re: Caroline Garcia

I am so sad for Caroline, she did not deserve this end.
And she is really playing with fire for olympics.... she will be 53 on monday, and top 56 (57 because no Pennetta) will enter, and i begin to worry a lot.... with a win she would stay in top 50, so now she has to win some matchs in Rome, Strasbourg and hopefully RG.

Caro lost 60 36 46

Oh my god !!! Only Caro can be so much better than her opponent (at least until 60 30) and still lose the match. The way she lost her serve at *4-5 was so typical for her.

Re: Caroline Garcia

The third set was at least a fight, she played better than in the end of the second set, but Domi was the tougher competitor. It could have been much worse.

Re: Caroline Garcia

yes this 1st game of 3r set will be crucial, kind f a MP to cibulkova

heard caroline discussion with her dad, she seemed totally lost, not believing she can win despite she had all the capacity to take it

Re: Caroline Garcia

oh my God, what a turn around from cibulkova

caro was playing amazing tennis leading 6-0 3-0 40-40 on cibulkova serve, she lost few points here and there and the slovak took back the ascendency to take the 2nd set 6-3! she just won 6 games in a row!

very tough for caroline cause she doesnt play her big game anymore, pome doing her pome show, well caro will have to dig deep now cause pome has the belief to win this match

she must take it from her!

Re: Caroline Garcia

Are you guys watching this? Caro was up 6-0 3-0 on Dominika.
Now she is so nervous, completely mistiming a routine forehand to lose the second set 63 (lost last 6 games).
Not sure what will happen in the third set but if she doesn't get a good start I believe she's a goner. Even if she gets a good start Dominika is capable of coming back. So at least 75% chance of Domi winning now I think.

Re: Caroline Garcia

well cibulkova is next, at least she's warned, the slovak must be attacked on her serve, probably her main weakness

impressive against radwanska yesterday so caro better come with big serve and big return of serve, cibulkova is a former RG semi-finalist

I hope caro wnt respect her at all and impose her game with some great angles too

Re: Caroline Garcia

I only started watching at 4-4, and I thought she played good clay court tennis. Nice serving, movement, focus, defense, and even some good returns.

Re: Caroline Garcia

I hadn't seen what was happening before then as Djokovic had a press conference.

I went over and it was 4-3 to Caro on serve. I had a feeling that she had a lead because she seemed a little bit agitated. This worker disrupted her serve and she gave him a stare before having a go at him the next point, much to my amusement.

But from when i joined the match she wasn't playing bad at all. I studied her more closely this year than last and she did impress me.

Re: Caroline Garcia

she was up 4-1 40-15 in that 1st set, then losing 3 games in a row

against radwanska this meltdown will cost her the match
