Glad she is finally back!!

She should have no problem getting to the FQR. Wozniak will be an interesting battle in the FQR.

Well she's not in the draw in Midland, in singles or doubles, so who knows
I doubt this will be the last we see of her though I seriously reckon she'll be like Mo Drake, plugging away at North American ITFs at 44. Except she won't be doing it just for kicks like Maureen is

Yeah, she can still receive a MD WC even though she pulled 2 weeks ago

Saw that. Well, I didn't think a trip to Australia to play Challengers made much sense. And it was a bit odd that she entered different ITF events on different continents, all at the same time.

Maybe she's reached the point wherein she will transition to another career. Best of luck to her, in any case.

Well, she was photographed with Max Mirnyi a couple of weeks ago, in front of his trophy wall, in his office. She was obviously training or working. Max is based in Bradenton. Maybe she is part of a coaching "team"?

I doubt it. Even the stupidest tennis pros seem to know when it's impossible to fund an "up and coming" career, with thankless stops in obscure qually rounds, and they drop-out like flies. Usually at age 22, when it becomes apparent they aren't going to make it.

She's 35 and hitting a qualifying round in Oz. On so many levels, it defies reason.

But, if someone is crazy enough to fund this madness, more power to her.

But even a solid teaching-pro job would not allow someone to just flit across Australia for kicks at the lowest-level events.

So she must have some very weird source of income for this stuff, because in 2007 she was boo-hooing to Julius Erving that she was broke, at the end of her funds, about to lose everything.

And that was a looonnnnngggg time ago.

I think there's going to be a terrifying and scary story at the bottom of all this, eventually. Frankly, I hope not, because I do actually root for Alex, ludicrous as it may be.

The whole deal makes no sense. She may not even make it to Oz, for all we know. Seems far far far beyond reason and sense, even for her.

She could conceivably flit to Australia and lose in the first round of qualifying. Which has been known to happen.

Aside from the roughly $5,000-$10,000 dollars it will cost to navigate even three Aussie events (for two people) and then fly home after nothing has been accomplished, this bulls%#t beggars description.

That money could be spent on buying new clothes for the community-college coaching job she'll be lucky to get.

This fabulous trainwreck continues.

Maybe she'll prove us all wrong and WIN the first Oz event.

But, typically, desperate parents of young, hot up-and-coming hitters spend a small fortune to fly their kids to the main draws of dreary satellite events.

Alexandra's mommy is still flying her to Australia to qualify for a $75K. And Alexandra is officially pushing 40.

I do think her ranking is harsh, mainly because she keeps entering stacked US $25k's and getting dumped out early. There are plenty European players I have seen who are higher but of arguably lesser quality.

That Jovanovski match isn't looking so impressive now when one examines the Serb's catastrophic run of form recently...
