Re: Océane Dodin

well it seems worse than I thought

what happened in her mind?she panicked or what?

yes we are used of that kind of horror but I thought it was time for her to change

well she doesnt. A SHAME but if she stays like that, working the same, with dad well that's her choice
she really needs someone to make her work on so many things

a shame for sure

. It's the same shit with Oceane time after time after time. It never changes and it's a shame. As you'll see in some of the pictures, Nadia was getting pushed back a lot, hitting off of her back foot, but she got the returns back in play or Oceane made her usual spate of unforced errors. For some reason, she watched a lot of balls go right by her and frankly, I am not sure why. She tries to come in a bit more than usual, but that wasn't working well, either. Finally, when Oceane got the lead in the 2nd set at 3-2, she lost the last 4 games to lose the match. I love Oceane's potential, but I am really mad at her for this loss.

Re: Océane Dodin

I dont think she became a claycourt lover all of a sudden, she should have beaten this girl but hasn't

her serve has to be improved a LOT , her 2nd serve stats are abyssal. I thought she would fight harder but this str8 sets loss is more than embarrassing

she's on the entry list of Quebec open on her best surface (indoor), let's hope she'll be better there

Re: Océane Dodin

Oh my. Well clearly, she did NOT deserve a WC... and I am puzzled by her schedule. 25k clay court tournaments before heading to the USO, really???

Océ lost 3-6 3-6

How strange it is that she hasn't had any results off of clay recently.

Re: Océane Dodin

Nothing against Georges, but she has basically had one decent win. Razzano has had many, and we are talking about top players. Yes, Razzano can easily lose to some scrub these days... but can also score a huge upset. Georges barely has any experience on the WTA tour and she is already 25 or 26.

Re: Océane Dodin

Myrtille has won one match in Roland Garros over McHale, who is not a bad player.. Yes we don't have many good players, but we have some hope, Tessah, Margot, Théo, why not Fiona are the first one, Lou is a good player but needs confidence and she has not a lot. But Myrtille can maybe do something, yes she is not 18 or 19 but she progressed a lot recently. Amandine can't do anything good this year, but i mostly think that, if we don't have big players it is because they are week mentally. And i am not sure they are working on this.
Some players are in forme recently, but around top 500, we need to be patient for the new generation, but i am sure they are coming in next years.
So yes i would have give the wc to Myrtille for example, most than Virginie, BUT i am sure it is her last year and that's why she has this wc.
Now i hope Océane will go through qualies, it would be really good thing.

Re: Océane Dodin

Yes, it is hard to understand. What is even more puzzling is the incredible depth on the mens side, I mean I believe France has the most players in the top 100 out of any nation. And then you look at the women, and there is barely anybody.
Garcia and Mladenovic are solid players but they often come short in big moments. Cornet has heart but lacks big weapons. So of course, Océane is a big hope, but the problem is.. well... she is the only one!! (I like Tessah though, so hopefully she can prove me wrong!)

Re: Océane Dodin

I talked from the Océane point of view, weird she didndt have it but still think she must learn "the hard way"

you are right floco when you say Razzano to be the most "capable" of doing something of this wc, our youngs are not ready for that level

Tessah still in progress

to resume, our fft is so incompetent, kristina is right here and I ll keep saying that till they do their job correctly, France has to be competitive!it used to be before, why not anymore?

Re: Océane Dodin

I disagree. The sad truth is that beside Océane, there is really nobody among the young players who is ready for the MD, let alone the QD of a Slam. Razzano, on the other hand, often shows up at Slams. Yes, she has struggled lately, but on a good day, she is always capable of scoring a big upset, and we are talking about a former top 20 player who, let's face it, won't play for much longer.
When I read that a lot of younger players would have been more useful, i ask WHO??? Tessah is not ready at all (remember RG?), Hesse hasn't had a decent win in forever and has never been top 150, same for Lim, Georges, and Reix (and they are not exactly young), Ferro has yet to show real significant progress, and anybody else is not even top 400 or isn't born yet!

Re: Océane Dodin

not that surprising from the fft we know she shines for her mediocrity and incompetence

the Olympic games and tennis results in general are enough to discredit them

I knew seing Alexandra Fusai and Arnaud Di Pascual (who did NOTHING in their career) would be a big FLOP as DTN

poor youngs, very hard to become somebody with such people
Aug 17th, 2016 10:33 AM
Jow I really hope Océane refused the wc but anyway bad choice with Razzano. A lot of youngs would have been more useful. Razzano will retire soon, instead of youngs.
