She was very upset, Vlado seemed very unhappy too, but I saw some positive signals for clay season, I really did.
Just watched the end of the 2nd set and the third and we didn't see the same things. For me it was worst than against Kr Pliskova.

I can make a list of U18 who would beat her at the moment,I didn't see anything positive, she is a mess.

2017 has not been kind to Dasha after showing so much promise in 2016. I really think she has only played one good match this year, and that was the Muguruza match. Even though she lost that match, I felt she showed she was ready to take the next step up in her game and rank. Unfortunately, I have not seen the same aggressiveness or fight since.

Fortunately the clay season is next so hopefully Dasha can revive her game and confidence on the dirt. If she continues to flop on clay, she probably needs to schedule some internationals and avoid some of the bigger tournaments until she gets her game back on track.
Her match against Babos was good,it's 2 don't steal this from her.
Not sure about avoiding big tournaments with this level she can lost at a 25K .

She needs to change her mindset when she's playing, what we saw is not about what's happening on the other side of the net.

Seriously 4 bagels this years, and we are talking about Kr Pliskova,Peng,Rogers and 2017 Kerber,I read that she conceded only 3 before this year. That says everything about her mindset problems and it won't be settled by avoiding the problem.

I do not care about winning or losing. She is still young, she is allowed to lose matches, but the attitude on the court must change. She needs to bring back her fighting spirit on court, playing tennis and stop thinking about the results.

Yes, if she keeps losing 1st matches, she probably should drop down to Intls
This is 4 losses in a row and no wins at the biggest 3 events
And she didnt compete against Wozniacki. No chance to win making so many unforced errors early in points

If the clay season is just as bad, Dasha WTA International tournament must play to fuel confidence.

Re: Darya Kasatkina

First round losses at the 3 biggest events. AO, IW, Miami and took a bagel in each.
Mentally, she isnt there right now. Lets see how bad a slump this becomes.
This is a tough sport if you are not competing well mentally

And a bagel again

What a shitty season, I hope this is still well in the clay season ...

I dont know if she will get to play. They are last on court 9. It depends on the rain, its forecast on and off all day

Re: Darya Kasatkina

I am very curious. Dasha should come back into her game, and she needs to get better mentally because her confidence is what sunk. The game against Pliskova in Indian Wells, did really hurt my eyes.

Rogers has some firepower from the baseline, if Daria plays like she has been playing lately she's going to be in trouble... time to step it up!

Re: Darya Kasatkina

So its Rogers, who lost to Vesnina at IW and is a tough match. Dasha will have to be ready from the start and hold serve the whole match

Rogers plays Erakovic today. Then we get this started!

Re: Darya Kasatkina

Dasha had tough first rounds. Maybe she plays well and might still lose to Peng & lefty Pliskova
But she has to hold serve and avoid losing 0-6.

Agree this could be a good draw for Dasha especially the way Angie is drifting through matches at the minute. Fingers crossed. But just has to focus on one match at a time and hopefully build some confidence.

Slightly surprised by her recent struggles. I only really started watching Dasha last year but she seemed to me to have possibly the best mentality for the ups and downs of tennis out of all the (super talented) girls in her age group.

Maybe just shows how much the week in week out grind of the tour can really take out of you - Pavs has speaking quite openly about this and the difficulties of making the jump to senior level in recent months. Lets just hope Dasha doesn't take as long to make the transition as Anastasia.
