Spencer. 06 57.

Had *5-3 and 2 SPs at 5-4*.

Then I turned into a tantrum child and broke my racket. So disgusted in myself. Clearly have no tennis mentality. Can't just fucking focus. I always have to do something stupid

Maybe 1 day I'll learn.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Just played tennis first time this year and won against friend 6-4, 6-2 after being down *0-4 in first set xD Wasnt even playing that bad, especially some points on net were kinda good, also service and forehand were okayish but backhand disaster as always

Re: Your tennis results?!

Looked through my results this season and close sets and matches I've lost. Obviously STBs are in brackets.

6-4 (this one was in a win)
7-6 6-4
(10-5)
(10-8)
7-6 (10-4)
7-5

There was only one lost match that I felt like the other guy was way too consistent and I was way too bad, I had no chance. The next time, I played the same guy and scoreline didn't look good but that time I hit way more winners than he did. So I couldn't count that as a close match but it wasn't too far off.

I've got two more matches to finish things on a good note .

1-6 5-7. Same ol' . Apart from two matches, all my losses since December have involved at least one close set or STB .

Saved a bunch of MPs at 3-5 and 4-5 (mostly his fuck-ups, but hey, I still didn't miss , and I did hit one winner and a good serve on two of those) only to get broken at 5-5 anyway .

2 more weeks and the season is over . I'm gonna get some coaching for the first time in ages after that. There are still so many basic things I barely or don't know how to do well .

Shonami Slam I played with one of my club mates and won 6-4 7-6 (2)

The upside is that he just reached the semis of his age category masters event, albeit lowest tier, so I'm probably good enough to start competing in the local pro-club tour

The bad news is he filmed the match and sent me the vid and I play... Ugly.
Sissy game with awful footwork, rushed serving and just wrong technique all over.

He really ought to be ashamed that I won, it's embarrrising that I beat anyone at all.

I'm so feminine in my shot production, I play more like an elegant Madame then a 28 yo guy ha!

Spencer. Doing surprisingly well. 3-0 for the season thus far.

This includes 2 wins over people who beat me fairly easily last season. So I'm not sure what changed but let's hope I keep doing the same things that are helping

I start my league team next weekend which I'm excited for. Hopefully I get to play.

Re: Your tennis results?!

My last matches had gone quite well. Dating back to December last year I'd won 3/4 of my club matches. Two were chicks (one of which seemed frankly disinterested - not the kind of match that's nice to play), but my latest one was a straight set win over a guy who'd beaten me in a STB last year . Even the one I lost despite winning only 4 games I hit a lot of winners and we were playing in rain.

Today was my club champs. Hell no I wasn't playing in the top division, but I still was excited . Well...first match I lost 6-7(5), 7-5 (4-10) . The guy is my teammate, I'd never faced him before. Unfortunately I just ended up playing his game really. He pushed a lot and hit lots of deep loopy shots. I'm not very tall and can't deal easily with those. I don't really think he hit them for that reason though, I think that's just his game...and way too often even when the rallies were in neutral or favourable territory, I hit a dumb error. Or instead of just focussing on getting the deep loopy shots back and waiting for a better opportunity, I tried impatiently to do too much with them. This was definitely a match to learn from though. I could've won, even in straight sets . Next time more patience.

The match was almost 2 1/2 hours long . So at least it was a good workout.

Second match I won 1-6 6-4 (10-6). Not much to say really. It was a guy I'd played 3 times before and never lost to. I was still tired and sad from the last match and basically not present but I woke up after being down a break in the second. I started sometimes grunting even. Maybe 'cause I was tired.

I have beaten my roommate in less than 1 hour and 20 minutes for the next result: 62 60 63... I had 2 flops... 2-0-->2-2* first set
and *0-3-->6-3 third set... My FH worked fantastic today which is unusual. 6 aces (Servebot Cheda since 2012 ), a lot of DFs (reminded me of my fave), and some great backhand CC winners.

^Tough luck

Anyway. *insert lengthy amount of swearing*. Lost my first comp match of the season 5-6 (6) leading *5-3 and *6-2 (:eek) in the TB

It was doubles and while I was quite good overall it turned into a fucking mess up 6-2. 4 errors off my racquet. Tbf they were great on the mps but I did: FH error, FH volley errpr (after my partner hit 6 excellent volleys in a row), FH return error and a FH error chasing a lob which my partner probs would have returned

Two matches to go and I swear if I choke again...

Re: Your tennis results?!

I played my first adult tournament Men's 4.0 tournament, and it was kinda a fluke since the organization shouldn't be allowing people under 18 to enter the adult tournaments. Either way, I won my first round pretty easily 6-1 6-1. I played the bare minimum to win and I wasn't satisfied. It was 16 ppl, so i played the fourth seed next, (ranked 176 in Canada 4.0) and I played very well at the beginning but I lost countless and I mean countless games up 40-15. I basically handed him the match on stupid unforced errors and double faults. I was trying to be aggressive while all he did was put the ball back in court. I lost 6-3 6-1 after leading 3-2 in the first set... and I completely lost it. He was calling me buddy or what not and it just got on my nerves, also broke a string ugh but thats tennis. Hopefully next time it will be better. Playing national u-18 selections tomorrow, likely won't win but i play in the main draw in doubles next week.

Cheers to everyone and Happy New Year!!

I got that vibe from him, he always tried to bash the volleyer with his returns, and because my partner's serves were so bad he was able to force me into a bunch of volley errors And when we warmed up, I warmed up dtl with the better one, and he was just smacking the absolute crap out of the ball, not really giving two shits about whether it went in or not.

I never dropped more than 2 games in a set But to be fair, I am older than them and am a ballbasher by nature, so I never really had too much trouble overpowering them, it would just come down to my own consistency (or lack of).

And the better one is an absolute turd. I don't like either of them, but the better one is insufferable.

At *0-4 in the second, I though, you know what, fuck it, I am not getting double bagelled. So I hit two massive first serves, both were service winners (which is no mean feat against two guys who just won a gold tournament). Then I hit another 3 huge serves, but my useless partner flubbed easy short returns. fml
