As far as Casey goes playing doubles is nothing compared to singles, regardless of opponent so it's a smart move. Doubles -> Doubles -> Singles is a logical progression. When it comes to head injuries always understand if people want to err on the side of caution.
You are right. Thanks.

Good time for an update as it seems she's getting into the swing of things again.

She played Fed Cup doubles which from the sidelines looks like rushing her in but obviously the doctors would have had a say and Aus did need her.

Now playing doubles with Barty in Perth next week, probably the same in Port Pirie, then back into singles for Mildura.

So there's a clear plan. Really glad she's coming back though and seems ok for all reports which is the important thing.

She was playing ATL Fast Four tennis and was scheduled as playing the Fed Cup tie coming up but apparently withdrawn from that too. So small steps.

not such good news for Casey. This was the tail end of the article about Kokkinakis being out for the summer.

But Dellacqua has been diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome, putting her playing future in doubt.

Poor Casey What a horrible time she is having with this concussion. First missing out on the WTA finals and now the entire Aussie summer. Didn't realise how serious this was.

Really hope she can build her singles ranking back up next year for a good run in 2017 Aussie summer and maybe final Aussie open.

Re: Casey Dellacqua cheering thread - Volume 2

It's encouraging to hear she wishes to have "the best possible chance of having a successful 2016 season"... We were all talking about the chance of her retiring after AO16, so it's good to hear her intentions are to get back to full fitness and play the whole year which would ultimately mean AO17.

Devastated that she misses the whole summer though. I wish more could be done to speed up her recovery.
