I feel more free. In practice, in matches, every decision now is about me. I am learning a lot about myself as a player. It is a lot of responsibility, of course. It is my job and my game, so everything is on me."

That is one of the reasons I came here. Not only because I won in 2013, but to clear my mind, to really think about what I am going to do. That is why I came alone, to enjoy the tennis and play without feeling too much pressure.

Being alone at tournaments is sort of therapy for Petra right now. We'll see how long it will take and mostly if it helps...
Well, it's a start. I know she played one of these tournaments without Kotyza present (iirc). Once she realizes that she wants to be a professional tennis player (hopefully a couple months before Wimbledon), she'll get a coach and a team. Come on, Petra!

Petra Kvitova separates from coach David Kotyza | Bangkok Post: news

Petra Kvitova separates from coach David Kotyza

The 25-year-old Czech had been working with Kotyza for more than seven years, but after a poor start to the year she has decided to try something new.

In a statement Kvitova said: "I felt that my career needed a fresh, strong impetus and a change.

"I agreed with David to end our collaboration in a personal meeting."

Kvitova, who played in all four of the Czech Republic's recent Fed Cup triumphs, has said that she will not be appointing a new coach until February.

I wonder how Honza is taking the news, he was quite content with stagnation and even regression.

80% of it is prize money. She hardly earns 2 million via endorsements. That figure is underwhelming given her status.
