The Americans seem to use "could care less" in the same sense that we say "couldn't care less". I've never really known why...

I don't understand the phrase "could care less". Doesn't that mean there is scope for someone to care even less about the issue? Couldn't care less seems to make more sense.

Tess Great to hear Ash happy to come back. We thought playing cricket meant she was settled in new life, but we must actually thank cricket as it bought her competitiveness back again for tennis!!

Good for her, if she can take this positive state of mind with her, she should be able to rise back into the Top 200 relatively quickly.
