Yea, I mean I liked the second part of the 2 hour but I felt this episode was so out of place. It should have been after the conclusion of Bad Emma and moving into this.

But, yeah. Mulan randomly appearing in the Brave arc is incredibly random.

Re: Once Upon a Time: Season 5 - Sept. 27th

Btw, I really hope they show Mulan's own backstory at some point

So far she has been thrown to all the other characters' stories (Phillip & Aurora, Merida, etc).

The only time a little bit of her own story was shown was when she and Belle had to protect her empire from a Chinese demon which turned out to be Phillip, but her original story has not even made it to Once

Red and Mulan

but why the hell don't they completely finish the emma arc.
Are Red and Mulan going to be a couple?

There is basically only 2 episodes left for the Dark Swan arc, Hercules arc starting after the winter/mid season hiatus in March 2016

Re: Once Upon a Time: Season 5 - Sept. 27th

Any clues as to whether Once Upon a Time viewers are literally going to "hell" aka the Underworld, and if so, as a whole cast? Or is it possible it comes to Storybrooke? –Karen

Details — on any confirmed trip to Hell or otherwise – are scarce thus far, but this much I can share: For an early Season 5B episode, the ABC series is guest-casting the roles of a "dashing, strapping young man" who is "single-minded in his pursuit of his destiny: to be the greatest hero who ever lived" and a "plucky, 18-year-old female adventurer with a sly sense of humor and a tough, no-nonsense spirit."

Those descriptions sound like Hercules and Megara, aka Meg, right? :shifty:

Based on many clues given by Adam and Edward, Hercules' world is coming for Season 5B

The title of the episode of the 100th episode is "Souls of the Departed", which is the first episode of Season 5b after the winter hiatus.
And when asked to describe the second half of season 5 in one word, they answered "Hell". All those might refer to the underworld of Hades.

Then there are these 3 casting calls which really sounds like Hades, Hercules and Megara based on the character descriptions.

"Devilish Mystery Man", "The Distinguished Gentleman"
Just call him Hades already

Once Upon a Time: Greg Germann Cast as Season 5B's Devilish Mystery Man
By Matt Webb Mitovich / November 3 2015, 11:54 AM PST

ABC’s Once Upon a Time has cast one helluva role for the second half of Season 5.
TV vet Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) has landed the heavily recurring role of what is for now being dubbed “The Distinguished Gentleman,” TVLine has learned exclusively.

ABC would confirm no further details on the character or his storyline, but the casting call described him as “a mysterious figure with god-like powers who is always clad in a perfectly tailored suit,” someone who can “strike fear into people just by being friendly” and “the last person you ever want to share a drink with.”

Last month at New York Comic-Con, Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis summed up Season 5B as “hell,” spurring speculation that our heroes next will brave the Underworld and perhaps clash with Hades himself. Subsequent casting calls cited by Matt’s Inside Line — though not confirmed — suggest we will meet Hercules and Megara at some point this spring.

Germann will make his debut in this season’s 12th episode aka the series’ 100th, which will launch the second half of the season sometime in March.

I didn't see the OUAT version as being in opposition to the original character - a self-absorbed mischievous being who has lived for untold decades without aging. And most of the events in OUAT can be related to some event in the story. Nah.

OTOH King Arthur is synonymous with "the one true king" and chivalry.
