Re: Jennifer Elie!

I saw the last two sets of the match in person. Jen was so fired up and fist pumping in the second. It's sad the third set got away so quickly but she fought to the end.

Also Zhu just needed an hour to beat Marand which also speaks for Jen and that the ranking above Marand is totally justified (also talentwise).

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Jen is in the Citi Open qualies. Maybe that explains the DF's.

3-6 6-4 2-6 against Loeb-
Another 2h30 min 3-setter. Jen lost it today and her serve really cost her. She threw a lot of DF's in the 3rd set. Could have easily been 5-5 instead of 2-6 in the end.
Nevertheless it was a nice tournament and she has almost equaled her CHR.

Wow! That would be unbelievable! I *hope hope hope* it's true ...

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Yes you are right I guess. And of course she won't get any WC at the other two 50K's and she'll have to fight through qualies again. So unfair.

EDIT: Just saw she withdrew from Sacramento so she might be into the WTA Washington Q-Draw since Naydenova got into qualies and is just a few places ahead of her in the rankings.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

I would love to see her get a USO QWC, too, but it'll probably depend on how she and others do in this series of 50Ks. She also has her age working against her, but I hope that won't be a factor when they decide.

Meanwhile I was so glad to see that today's match, despite being 3 sets, took only 2 hrs 14 minutes instead of 3+ hours like some of her recent victories. She has really improved at closing out a match.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Jen did it again.
It was a 3 set match again but not as close as 3 weeks ago. 4-6 6-4 6-1
R2 against Loeb. Good luck.

Love her form at the moment. They should really give her a QWC for the US OPEN already after making two 25K QF's, one 25K final and making it outta qualies to at least the 2nd round in a 50 K. All those wins took place in the USA also.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

(Q)Jennifer Elie (USA) v (wc)Ashley Kratzer (USA)

She had a 3hour + battle against her in Baton Rouge so hopefully she'll find a way to beat her again. She deffo got the best Q-spot.

Re: Jennifer Elie!

Vickery,Zhu,Kris Pliskova or Kratzer are the possible MD spots.
A MD win would be wounderful for her.
Already earned 5 points more than last year.
