All the best to Aiko. She will certainly be missed and I have some great memories of watching her over the years. She did well following her surgery and time out to get herself up to where she did. I hope she has a great retirement.

Re: Aiko Nakamura Thread.

As expected, Aiko has announced her retirement. Her farewell ceremony will be held on the 11th at the All-Japan Championships...

Very sad. She was relatively injury free until her freak knee injury at Vancouver in 2009... 2 knee surgeries and she was never the same again

It would have been nice if she played one last time at Osaka, her hometown.

Anyway, farewell to another great Japanese player...

Well then, congratulations are in order! She climbed a long way back up the rankings last year. Hopefully 2012 will be another good year for her.

Re: Aiko is back 2010

Aiko had her best result so far this year playing in the Fukuoka 50k. She made it to the semis in singles and the doubles final with Namigata.
