Cluich Cneutaig Sad news from Maja's website. Yesterday she wrote the following:

Hey! | Wednesday - 09. 08. 2006 at 10:55

l finally decided to finish my professional career,as i have too mave injures and they are repeting all the time. So, i will play my last tournament this september in Portorose, where i will get the wild card in doubles (with Tina Krizan).

l would like to thank all of you, for the support you gave me in all my professional years and also in the last 3 years, when i had problems with injuries.

l am extremely sad that i have to leave tennis circuit, but i will try to teach some kids now here in Slovenia and give them all that i learn in all this years.

Good luck for the future Maja. You will be an inspiration to kids throughout Slovenia and beyond.

SloKid Some news on Maja:
She played an exhibition doubles match in Ljubljana. She teamed up with Tina Križan and played against Mima Jauševec and Stefan Edberg, who was on a Wilson promotional visit in Slovenia.
The short exhibition ended at 3 all
Here's a pic:

Maja is on the far right.
Standing from left to right: Tina Križan, Stefan Edberg, Blaž Kavčič (2005 Slovenian champion), Mima Jauševec and Maja.

SloKid I saw Maya today in Portorož, she still has her arm in a sling, but not all the time, she seemed to be in a good mood, she was having fun watching the tennis tournament and hanging around with her boyfriend, who is a sports journalist and a tv commentator on national television (he commented on the Srebotnik-Danilidou match that was live on TV).

I just hope that she recovers soon and gets back to playing tennis, because she has so much talent.
