Happy birthday to Karina for 2nd August. I hope she and her daughters - Laura and Nicol Cileková - are doing well.
I didn't get a chance to welcome Nicol when the news of her birth broke last year, as I was extremely busy at the time. So I'm writing to rectify this now, and I have updated my Karina Habšudová Biography to add the birth of Nicol.
I'm very excited that the Habšudová/Cíleková dynasty is being continued, and I'll be looking out for the Cíleková sisters in the 2020s!

ANNOUNCE: Andrew's Karina Habšudová Biography updated
Šťastné narodeniny, Karina!
I have just uploaded a minor update to Karina's biography on my website (added intra-document links, and tweaked a few things in the introduction):
It is not a copy of Karina's standard WTA Tour biography, but my own detailed appreciation of her game, followed by a review for every year of her career. This update doesn't add any new information, because I haven't heard any news of Karina since the birth of her first child, Laura Cíleková, on 11th October 2005 (definitely a name to look out for in the 2020s!).
One of the things I love about Karina is that she had a fantastic spreading game: not only hitting the ball with flairsome power, but engineering points beautifully. Every shot seemed like a continuation of her initiative, even if it was a winner.
I've seen many fine tennis-matches since I started following the professional game in 1992, and many more since Karina stopped playing, but if I had to pick a favourite of all time, purely in terms of the calibre of play, it would probably still be that Wimbledon 2000 first-round match between Karina and Monica Seles!
