Now is our promising junior Jaak Pldma also out lost in singles as well as doubles in second round. Now onto grass and practicing for Wimbledon.

Pretty lousy day for starters like that.

Roland Garros allmost over for Estonians

Posted Jun 6th, 2006 at 10:08 AM by Botas
So Kaia Kanepi lost in second set to Anabel Medina Garrigues 3-6, 6-4, 0-6. Kaia said her self that just was't her day.
Maret Ani partnering Meilen Tu reached third round, after beating Julie coin and Youlia Fedossova (both FRA) with 6-2 6-1 and in second round beating Elena Dementieva and Flavia Pennetta with 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 4-6 (it was a very nice win) and losing in third round to Natalie Dechy and Vera Zvonareva 2-6, 6-7 (0-6).
Now is only left Jaak Pldma a promising...

First round of RG

Posted May 31st, 2006 at 06:06 AM by Botas
Maret Ani vs JHH 3-6, 0-6. Allthough I did't see the play I heard she had trouble with serving, but still the good point was when she was in first round behind 0-3 she managed to break opponents game and take take two of her own games. Nice play. Ofcourse she was quite nervous to play in the main court against former champion and in front of so many people, so it was good experience and I think the next time she has that kind of opportunity she holds her nerve better and therefore puts up more resistance....

Maret Ani vs JHH

Posted May 30th, 2006 at 05:45 AM by Botas
The play will be interesting. The qestion is how much can Maret hold. If she could break a game it would be really something. Still to be realistic if the score will be 6-3, 6-2 this could be called an good play. Everyone must understand still that the JHH holds WTA nr 5 position right now and Maret is "few" places behind. Whatever the score will be it is still a good practice for Maret and to understand the power of people. They are also playing at the Chatier in front of quite big croud....
