French open Day 1 notes and observations.

Hi Guys here. I watched a couple of wta matches today.
Here is what i saw on TV/internet

first up
Malthide johnasson vs Camille pin
well i expected this match to be boring but i found this match very exiting.
i started seeing this match from the second set. Camille pin was playing well defensively and saved a lot of break points. johansson started to make a lot of BH errors and got broken twice in the set. Pin served for the set at *5-2 but johansson hit a couple of forehand winners and broke her back and held her serve easily. pin served for the match again found her in trouble with a couple of bh errors. (at 15-30 she yelled "ahhhhhhhhhh" but recovered from her frustration and managed to save a break point to win the second set.)
In the third set.
Johannson continued with her powerful game and hit a lot fhs and passing shots and she served well as well.(she hit a a couple of body serves in this match which pin struggled to return.) Pin looked a little tired but there were a lot of 8-10 shot rallies in the set.
I'm impressed with this johansson girl. Well next up is tough match for her but you never know what kind of serena shows up.

Next up Ashley Harkleroad vs Serena
I hoped for ashley to put a fight but instead this match was boring as hell.
Ashley did manage to get a quick start but from then she completely lost it. Serena continued her service assualt and pressured harkleroad. Harkleroad had tons of opportunities in this match but made tons of errors and bad judgement. There were a couple of occasions she had a opporunity to play passing shots.(on one occasion serena stood on left side of the net and the right side was open for passing but harkleroad made a lob and paid the price.
Serena didn't really do anything special but served well though which got her thorugh.

Galina Voboskoeva vs Youlia Feddosova .(pardon me if i didn't get the name right.)
i saw the third set of the match. it reminded of a challenger match to be honest
Voboskoeva was pretty tall and got a good serve completely dominated the set. Feddosova didn't really have any gameplan and couldn't handle Galina's power games.
Galina too made a lot of errors but her volleys and drop shots are enjoyable to watch.
