Main draw has come out.
Lindsay Davenport, Maria Sharapova, and Amelie Mauresmo are mentioned on WTA website's preview. And yes, these 3 top seeds are going to be the favourites to make final 4. However, each of them does have a tough road before them. So here are my picks for my 4 semifinalists.
Davenport: Lindsay is the only one of 3 winners in this tournament, the other being Hantuchova and Clijsters. Hfate has always been either winning the title or losing to the winner. Her fate is probably not going to change here. In her quarter, the draw is filled with hardcourt veterans who have traditionally been consistent on this surface, and Amy could give Davenport a run in the d of 16. I pick Elena Likhovsetva to be her quarterfinal opponent, despite the fact that Natalie Dechy reached semifinal last year, her lackbuster performance this year will not carry her through even to the quarters. But Elena, who has never won a match against Davenport, will not win against Davenport, again.

Sharapova: she has both Safina and Hantuchova in her quarter. Hantuchova has been a train wreck ever since she failed to defend her Indian Wells title she won in 2002. Maria will have an easy road to the quarterfinal. Petrova will be her quarterfinal opponent who is always dangerous.

Mauresmo: the easiest draw out of all, no one can threaten her all the way to the final 4. Bovina is not even going to hold her seed to the quarterfinal. The comeback kid Martinez wil emerge from the section. Not that previous winner Kim is also here, but she is not fully recovered yet.
Mauresmo in 3
Dementieva: Even though Kuznetsova won an American hardcourt title just 6 months ago, she has never been able to repeat the same kind of performance since then. And Dementieva will not let Kuznetsova upset her by showing why she is the higher ranked of the two this week.

Semi:
Sharapova bt. Davenport in 3
Mauresmo bt. Dementieva in 2
Final:
Mauresmo bt. Sharapova in 3
And wins her first ever hardcourt title in America and regains number one ranking back.
