I guess being older (and wiser of course) deserves a mature thoughtful entry from yours truly. After turning 21 yesterday at 12am, I felt this sudden urge to do some government voting and read up more on the political issues of the world. Ok maybe not, but it has been one of the best birthdays I ever had.
I can spend time talking about the presents but I want to thank a few people first. They are more important.
(I will write about the presents another day I guess)
I had a birthday weekend where I spend Saturday with the best friend and Sunday with my friends. We had to do the small little party on Sunday because I am spending Tuesday with my family. Besides, I wouldn’t want them to rush after work or school just to celebrate with me. Wow, is it me or am I suddenly so understanding and kind?
Back to the point, I celebrated with my classmates on Monday and even though we have only known each other for 2 months, they are cool.
So I will just start on the actual day when the clock strikes 12am. Like Cori would say, I was getting spammed. But I don’t mind since it was sweet of my friends to be online and some of them messaged me happy birthday. I must thank Cori and Dennis for the nice shared birthday sms. Oh by the way Dennis, Cori said you’re slow in typing sms. I was just wondering if that’s true.
Sometimes the best presents are those that come from the heart. Christine surprised me yesterday. Even though she couldn’t be around at 12am my time since she had tennis lessons, she sms me at the right time. Thank you.
She gave me a great present too. I’m not sure I can say it out that she wrote me a poem but it was so sweet it almost made me cry! That’s blog worthy!
Don’t worry, I am keeping my promise not to show it to anyone.
Thank you for accompanying me till so late even though you have school the next day and thank you for the sms and present. You’re an awesome friend and I am glad to have you in my life in one way or another. I know you’re tired sometimes and yet you still keep me company so... thank you.
(Ok this nice moment stuff won’t last so enjoy it while you can haha kidding)
Next present which touched my heart. Nichola singing a birthday song for me. She hates singing so I am truly honoured that she would do it for me. Or she’s just guilty she has to go to a party on my birthday!
I really didn’t mind because I know she would be there for me any other day.
Just to let her know that I saved the singing clip, in case I can blackmail her one of these days.
Ok seriously, thank you for getting out of class early for me and thank you for singing me a birthday song even though you were rushing out and.. thank you for being you.
Thank you to Mercedes for that kind gesture
Thank you to my fellow singapore mates in the singaporean thread
And to everyone else who wished me a happy birthday, you guys rock my socks!
Edit: Alex, Vivian and Mark (Benchie) should be mentioned too since they are so nice to remember my birthday.
(Ok, actually Alex was wondering why he wasn't mentioned so here it is.
) I need to mention Mark too for letting me hear him on the mic. His Eric Cartman impersonation.
)
*If you could go back and just change one thing about your life, would you? And if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately break your heart? Or the heart of another? Would you choose an entirely different path? Or would you change just one thing? Just one moment. One moment that you've always wanted back?*
